Overview - External
FM Global is embarking on a business technology transformation through our new Agile organization. Agile is an alternative to traditional sequential product development and delivery practices. At its heart, Agile is a simple concept-build and delivers products incrementally from the start with a focus on delivering the highest value features as early as possible, instead of trying to build and deliver full scope at once. With Agile, cross-functional and self-managing teams collaborate, incrementally developing products and getting feedback from clients on how the product should evolve to provide the greatest value.
Responsibilities - External
Responsible for building design capability, as well as overall client / user experience design strategy and execution within the context of the agile transformation program. Serves as advisor to the transformation lead on all issues related to continuous improvement of the clients’ and internal users’ experiences and best practices in design.
This person works as a leader to infuse user-centered design principles in both the product portfolio and overall organizational culture and shares responsibility for user adoption and satisfaction of solutions. Also, is people manager for the design team (including experienced design leads, UX/UI designers, and other potential design roles).
Qualifications - External
Education:
• Bachelor degree
• Degree in Design (Visual/UX/Interaction) is a plus
Experience: • 10-15 years’ experience in Design or related field
• Has worked with key stakeholders across an organization to persuade decision based on a UX priorities
• Ability to coordinate transformation initiative and other brand /design efforts throughout the enterprise
• Has mapped out user experience workflows (e.g., select BAs), or has formal education in design thinking (e.g., CMU co-op)
• Excellent track record in prior work of user research, experience design, rapid prototyping, usability testing
• Has experience with managing (including recruiting and retaining) top design talent
Skills/Knowledge:
• Experience design and data visualization skills, including use of a diverse set of software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Invision, Sketch, and others)
• Has conducted numerous user / client research sessions
• Has strong communication skills with ability to articulate the value of a design choice to clients / users
• Synthesizes abstract ideas into concrete implications for design
• Is able to produce high quality creative output under quick turnaround times and strict deadlines
• Has analytical skills to conduct diagnosis of UX
• Is passionate about problem solving through design
• Sees value in taking an iterative approach to design
• Has a strong sense of ownership and is not afraid to speak up to ensure the user angle is heard by the PO
• Is open to learning new ideas outside scope
