Liberty Mutual Insurance is seeking an experienced Executive Compensation professional to join the Executive Compensation team!
The Executive Compensation Consultant will, together with the Executive Compensation Manager, lead all the activities of the Executive Compensation team within the Global Compensation & Mobility group.
The Executive Compensation Consultant will manage all the activities of the Executive Compensation team in the administration, design and implementation of compensation programs for the top executives, the Board of Directors and all long-term incentive participants globally. The Executive Compensation Consultant will provide expertise, as well as project leadership in all aspects of compensation including but not limited to short and long-term incentive plan design, retention plans, market data analysis and vendor management. Delivering high-touch customer service and collaboration among more than a dozen internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:Build organizational capabilities with a small team of professionals to ensure timely completion of deliverables related to plan administration (cash, equity and executive benefit plans) and communication.
• Oversee team of plan administrators, providing guidance for incentive (cash and equity), benefit (ELIP) and deferred compensation (SIRP) plans (3-4 direct reports)
• Drive and lead executive compensation strategic programs including: evaluation, design and implementation of programs. Recommend modifications to maintain the organization’s objectives and competitive position in the marketplace.
• Provide expertise, as well as project leadership in all aspects of compensation including but not limited to short and long-term incentive plan design, retention plans, market data analysis, and monitor trends and best practices.
• Oversee the development and delivery of regular executive communications that provide valuable insight into the diligence and integration process including status, issues and risks, and suggested resolutions
• Oversee equity administration. Working with Finance and legal to forecast and track the utilization of LM equity plans including compensation expense.
• Oversee executive benefits administration. Working with internal and external resources to monitor and update supporting framework.
• Conduct compensation benchmarking to ensure the competitive analysis of compensation programs is in line with overall total rewards philosophy. Including market pricing, internal equity review and pay mix.
• Provide consultation to business partners on executive compensation transitions and offers.
• Manage vendor relationships. Liaise with key vendors/consultants who provide expertise on long and short term incentive plans.
• Manage the Executive Compensation department annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
• Provide guidance on escalated and/or complex issues.
Qualification:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or related discipline required. MBA preferred.
• A minimum of 10+ years of diverse compensation experience with a track record of progressive responsibility managing key compensation projects within a large consulting firm or global organization.
• Ability to evaluate, design, and recommend executive compensation programs based on market assessment and business strategy.
• Effective communication skills—both interpersonal and written. Demonstrated ability to articulate and recommend change to executives.
• Proven track record of implementing creative executive compensation and equity programs that align senior management with business goals.
• History of successful interaction and influence with all levels of stakeholders, especially senior executives.
• Demonstrates high level of business, analytical, and financial acumen.
• Strong problem solving capabilities, including the ability to clearly define problems, collect data, draw conclusions, and influence others to implement recommendations.
• Ability to work well in a fast paced environment.
• Knowledge of compensation governance and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Attention to detail and deadlines; ability to manage multiple initiatives.
