Position Overview
The Major Project Execution group for the Single-Family Business is responsible for managing strategic initiatives and projects for the Single-Family Business. This includes managing the product development for the Loan Advisor Suite, Freddie Mac’s suite of tools that help lenders manufacture loans to our investment specifications, as well as critical capabilities for Pricing loans and our Credit Risk Transfer program. The VP – Major Project Execution is looking for a Project Management Director to manage assigned initiatives/technology product(s) within the Single-Family business line. The Project Management Director will be responsible for leading a team that is focused on both the ongoing management of key strategic initiatives as well as the development of new, industry wide technology product offerings that are of strategic importance for Freddie Mac, our customers, and the entire industry. The work is challenging, complex, and strategic and the work environment is fun, fast-paced, and extremely challenging. Both dimensions require high caliber professionals who can tackle large scale industry problems and drive execution across the organization.
Responsibilities include:
• Lead and manage large, cross division initiatives that will require partnering with several stakeholders across the Single-Family business.
• Design and development of technology products/offerings, as well as product management and financial analysis.
• Develops the annual plans to determine objectives, strategies, and tactics to meet goals.
• Develops strategic and tactical product development/project plans for their product/project offering portfolio.
• Establishes operational objectives and work/project plans, and delegates assignments to subordinate managers.
• Manage integrated projects/release plans across several initiatives, whether directly or indirectly owned by their team
• Works on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives.
• Establishes and assures adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements.
• Requires the ability to influence or gain acceptance from, others in sensitive situations, without damage to relationship.
Qualifications
• 12 + years of related professional work experience
• Strong knowledge of Freddie Mac's role in the Single Family Secondary Mortgage Market as well as an understanding of how we interact with the primary market.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, related field or equivalent work experience
• Strong financial aptitude and robust analytical skills
• Superior oral and written communications skills
• Superior product development and product management skills
• Superior project management experience
• Demonstrated business acumen, problem solving skills, intellectual maturity, and relationship management skills
Preferred Skills
• MBA, other graduate degree or advanced studies
• Experience in the Primary Mortgage Market a plus
• Experience with Microsoft SharePoint or other collaboration tools
• Experience with Planview and/or project management and resource management tools
• Ability to work effectively with continuous change and short deadlines
• Excellent Excel and PowerPoint presentation skills
