Grant Thornton is seeking an IV&V Consultant to join its Technology Solutions service line and take an active role in engagement execution, project management and key business development activities.

At Grant Thornton, our professional staff applies traditional, cutting-edge approaches and methods to a variety of analyses. As part of our team, the IV&V Consultant will utilize various methodologies and models to execute client projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Review project governance documentation to ensure adequate controls over the project.
• Monitor project governance activities for adherence to stated processes.
• Review project artifacts for completeness, accuracy and timeliness.
• Attend project status and executive steering committee meetings.
• Review project status documentation including status reports and project plans to identify undisclosed issues and risks.
• Create monthly written project summary report to describe findings and recommended actions.
• Create and present a monthly briefing presentation to client executive management.
• Identify and assist the project team in adopting best practices to support project team goals and IV&V recommendations.
• Meet or exceed targeted billing hours (utilization).
• Assist with business development activities, such as proposals, capture, account teams, whitepapers, conferences, and/or other thought leadership materials.
Qualifications
• Combination of any: PMP, Six Sigma Green or Black Belt, Agile, or Scrum Master or Scrum Product owner.
• Good analytical, oral communication and written documentation skills.
• Good consulting and client management skills.
• Strong follow-through skills.
• Demonstrated ability to recognize potential project-related issues and risks.
• The ability to analyze system requirements for potential issues and omissions.
• The ability to analyze project plans to identify potential risk areas.
• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in technical field. Masters degree preferred.
• Extensive experience providing oversight on large, multi-year, multi-million-dollar systems implementation projects.
• Broad scope of projects involving multiple business areas, multiple technologies and combination of both COTS and custom development.
• Variety of projects involving all aspects of IT (e.g., network, database, systems, DW, ERP).
• Prior independent consulting or equivalent corporate experience preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain certain job-related certifications if no job-related advanced degrees.
• U.S. citizenship may be required. Ability to work in the United States indefinitely required.
• Travel may be required.
• Ability to work overtime required on occasion.
• Ability to sit in an office environment for long periods of time.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
• Ability to obtain and maintain firm independence and abide by firm ethics requirements.
• Meet or exceed continuing professional education (CPE) requirements.
