Responsible for developing and maintain the infrastructure needed to support management of the Retail deposit portfolio, UB Retail pricing strategies, and non-interest optimization. Develops forecasting models to understand the deposit portfolio flows, impact of UB pricing moves and yield curve changes, and fee income trends and behaviors.
Major Responsibilities:
Responsible for developing and delivery of state of the art deposit pricing, portfolio management and non interest income tools. Designs and develops strategies analytical models used to support deposit balance and price optimization; collaborates with Treasury on statistically based modeling.
Design and develops of strategies and analytical models used to support non interest income. Implements the pricing strategies/method that optimize deposit portfolio balance and spread based on market and channel dynamics. Develops deep knowledge of retail deposit market and competitor pricing strategies by market and channel.
Understands industry players, broader competitive environment as it relates to pricing and non interest income strategies and deposit portfolio flows. Designs and develops analytical pricing models, in concert with Customer Pricing and Analytics (statisticians). Designs and develops analytical deposit portfolio models, in concert with Treasury. Designs and develops analytical non interest income models, in concert with Retail Product Management.
Develops reporting infrastructure needed to support measuring and tracking financial performance and volumes against established goals, develops key performance metrics for the Retail deposit portfolio, participates in UB's retail deposit pricing activities, and is responsible for any ad hoc analysis as needed. Work closely with Retail Product Management and Retail Finance in measuring and tracking financial performance and volumes against established goals.
Coordinates with Retail Finance to develop key performance metrics that measure the results of pricing moves and reflect portfolio movements. Coordinates with Treasury to ensure that pricing and portfolio models are appropriately reflected in business plans and forecasts. Acts as a liaison between Retail Banking and Treasury staff to ensure an understanding of retail deposit pricing and customer behaviors.
Qualifications
Over 10 years of both deposit and non-interest income modeling, management reporting , and Retail deposit pricing experience, prior experience with deposit elasticity modeling required.
10+ years Functional work Superior analytical and technical skills; must have deep understanding of relational databases and statistical modeling tools Capable of executing and implementing deposit pricing, portfolio management and non interest income strategies Effective team work and team building skills.
Ability to interface with Senior Management Preferred: Graduate degree or equivalent preferred. Reports to Retail Deposit Mgr I
