Description
Santander’s Commercial Banking Division is an active provider of capital, treasury management and risk management solutions to thousands of small and mid-sized companies in the northeast and across the country. The Regional Executive Director provides leadership, supervision, and direction to a team of Relationship Managers, Account Managers, and Relationship Assistants in assigned geography. Drives revenue and market share growth through new customer acquisition, cross selling and retention of existing customers. Responsible for meeting budgets on revenue, expense, balance sheet, margin and bottom line profitability. Leads origination of commercial banking relationships which meet the commercial bank's target market and shares accountability with credit for underwriting and the maintenance of a credit worthy group of customers. Develops go to market strategy with key business partners (i.e.Treasury) across a global footprint.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
• Actively involved in the market at COI events
• Is well known as a key leader for Santander in the geography
• Actively calls, with the relationship team on customers, prospects and COIs
• Leads the Santander branding efforts; creates market awareness through direct participation in business development, customer retention, and relationship enhancement activities
• Coaches Relationship Managers in the development of relationship/account plans and the cross selling and uptiering of existing customers
• Works with credit partners to build consensus on risk tolerance, structure, hold levels, pricing and credit underwriting on new and existing credit transactions
• Directs sales efforts to ensure coverage of all targets within market
• Ensures sales activity levels necessary to generate pipelines adequate to meet goals.

Qualifications
• 15+ years of broad-based commercial banking experience; at least 5 years in a management capacity
• Broad exposure across financial services products, commercial segments and delivery channels
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and leverage professional relationships within and outside of the bank
• Demonstrated superior sales, presentation, interpersonal, negotiation and written and verbal communication skills
• Full utilization of sales automation tools and related technologies
• Leadership skills and ability to lead and develop a strong team
• Solid knowledge of and experience with the investment banking community and its practices as it applies to middle market and commercial banking
• Superior knowledge of cash management and treasury products
• Superior knowledge of commercial banking products and services (both credit and non credit products)
• Superior knowledge of financial analysis, risk evaluation, loan documentation and commercial loan collection activities.
