Job Description
The role of the Financial Analysis & Valuation (FAV) team is to support the financial and operational reporting needs of Senior Leadership through accurate, timely and high-quality analysis. A Senior Analyst should possess a high comprehension of financial concepts, a strong analytical mindset, and the ability to express and convey information proficiently using all forms of communication with various levels of the organization. Experience within the mortgage industry, along with a high level of comfort working with Accounting data is strongly recommended. Candidate must possess an advanced level skillset across the Microsoft suite of office products. Responsibilities span across various tasks to ensure the reporting needs of other divisions are met. Senior Analysts are expected to work well in a team environment as well as independently with minimal supervision.
Job Responsibilities:
• Held accountable for preparing, publishing, maintaining, and enhancing a suite of monthly operational reports to support the operational and financial needs of key business segments within the enterprise, and/or Executive Management
• Forecast and assess the staffing needs of the various business entities to support efficient growth of the company
• Support various Investment, Capital and Management committees, which may include the preparation of presentation focused on strategy returns, compliance adherence, liquidity projections, and/or summaries of financial performance
• Provide continual management, guidance, support, and analysis to divisions on staffing and financial performance through the use of appropriate drivers, metrics, and reports
• Assist with the development of the annual forecast and budget
• Management of complex and intricate Excel-based financial models
• Support business partners with financial analysis to analyze new business opportunities, transactions, and compliance or regulatory needs
• Prepare ad-hoc analyses that may relate to variance analysis, historical trends, market share, and/or the market environment
Preferred Qualifications
Skills & Abilities Required:
• Proficient with financial reporting concepts and reports (U.S. GAAP a plus)
• Knowledge of the Mortgage and Investment Management industries, as well as the their related businesses and terminology
• Advanced Excel spreadsheet with modeling experience preferred
• Strong financial systems and business application skills including SAP, Essbase, Excel, Access, (SQL and VBA a plus) and PowerPoint
• High level of enthusiasm, innovation and dedication
• Extremely high attention to detail and ability to multi-task
• Be able to step back and understand the “big picture”
• Ability to perform and succeed in high pressure situations, and thrives in deadline driven environment
• Work additional hours and weekends as needed
• Strong sense of ownership to ensure tasks are completed
• Ability to communicate and present comfortably to Senior Management
• Work independently yet proficient at managing relationships
• Creative mindset a plus
