Responsibilities
This position is primarily responsible for the preparation and production of financial related regulatory reports. This position will also participate/assist with month-end close and consolidation process. Specific responsibilities include:
Assist/Lead in the production of periodic financial regulatory reports (FDIC, Federal Reserve FR Y's & Treasury).
1. Develop, maintain and document all processes to produce the regulatory reports.
2. Develop and maintain highly efficient and organized work papers to document report production.
3. Evaluate and integrate new reporting requirements into the reporting process.
4. Maximize available technologies (Hyperion, BIC, Internal Databases) to facilitate reporting.
5. Partner with all departments to ensure that an efficient work flow is maintained within and between the departments including data gathering and inputting methodologies for all report production processes.
Participate in the calculation of Risk Based Capital
1. Assist in a formalized process to efficiently calculate BASEL III risked based capital
2. Update the calculation model as requirements change.
Support periodic regulatory and internal examinations.
Other Duties & Responsibilities
1. Identify ways to improve departmental operations and improve optimal operating efficiency.
2. As assigned, assist with month end close process and internal consolidation activities.
3. Perform other special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Position Qualifications include the following:
1. Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
2. CPA desirable, but not required
3. 5 - 7 years experience of financial statement preparation or financial services regulatory reporting production.
4. Ability to translate and apply regulatory reporting requirements
5. Solid written/and oral communication skills.
6. Detail oriented and well organized demonstrating the ability to work independently in a deadline driven environment.
7. Advanced PC skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Access and Word) and general understanding of software operations and automated accounting systems.
8. Broker/Dealer Regulatory Reporting beneficial
9. Experience with Hyperion beneficial
