Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
Duties: Associate-Intermediate/Vice President with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, NY. Perform corporate credit analysis and risk management of global Consumer and Healthcare issuers and of Latin American issuers across all industry sectors within the separately managed account group for Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management. Perform fundamental credit analysis across investment grade and high yield corporate bonds using financial modeling, accounting review, assessment of bonds indentures, management’s communications, competitive landscape, geopolitical risks and third-party research.
Provide ongoing written recommendations (buy/sell decisions) to the Portfolio Manager and traders based on assessment of relative value within comparable companies, benchmark, credit ratings, capital structures (secured and unsecured bonds, bank loans, revolvers, preferred stocks, hybrids and convertibles), covenants, collaterals, guarantor and maturity type.
Participate in the construction of private wealth clients’ fixed income portfolios, including presenting concepts of fixed income instruments and portfolio construction to private wealth clients through meetings and conference calls. Interact with companies’ senior management and syndicate counterparts at other investment banks in the context of new debt offerings.
Responsible for conducting the team’s Quarterly Risk Review of clients’ existing positions. Perform secondary coverage of Technology, Retail and other corporate credit issuers. Participate in the development of marketing materials, macro and sectors update/trends. Leverage Goldman Sachs’ resources (proprietary systems/technology teams) to develop risk management tools that optimize portfolio construction and drive ways to grow the business.
Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field. Five (5) years of experience in corporate credit analysis.
Prior experience must include five (5) years with the following: financial accounting, including the ability to fully comprehend, assess and forecast financial statements including income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements; performing corporate credit analysis, including building credit models and analyzing operational data and credit metrics including gross and net leverage, free cash flow generation, debt service coverage, liquidity and solvency ratios; conducting analysis of investment grade, high yield, hybrids and convertible corporate bonds and assessing the relationships associated with other debt obligations within a company’s capital structure (such as Credit Facilities, Senior Unsecured Debt, Subordinated Debt, Junior Subordinated Debt and preferred stocks); presenting concepts of fixed income, portfolio construction and risk management to private wealth clients through meetings and conference calls, with a focus on Latin American clients; analyzing structure, pricing and covenant features of a wide array of fixed income products, including sovereign and corporate bonds; experience with fixed income valuation, bond math and price dynamics of bonds, including yield to maturity or to worst, call and put structures, OAS-spread, z-spread, g-spread, convexity and duration; conducting cash flow, relative value models and statistical analysis of relevant macro, industry or company data and producing analytical reports using Excel and Bloomberg.
Prior experience must include three (3) years of experience with the following: assessing corporate credit risk of Latin American debt issuers, including understanding geopolitical issues, and conducting fixed income valuation of Latin American fixed income securities; fixed income portfolio management for private wealth clients, including ultra-high-net-worth individuals and family offices.
