Summary:
The Director & Sr. Wealth Advisor is a senior level sales professional. The primary function is to identify, contact, qualify and close high-net-worth investment management relationships for Calamos Wealth Management. This position is responsible for new asset generation as well as building and maintaining existing client relationships. The Director & Sr. Wealth Advisor will work independently within the New York region in order to achieve individual and team goals.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Develops and executes a business plan in order to generate business and grow AUM within Calamos Wealth Management.
2. Covers a regional territory and is responsible for prospecting and generating business within high net worth (HNW) investors, ultra high net worth (UHNW) investors, endowments, foundations and other organizations.
3. Strives to meet or achieve all sales objectives for the assigned region while dynamically contributing to the team goal.
4. Actively cultivates and maintains relationships with sources of new business, including: established referral platforms, CPA’s, attorneys, investment bankers and other centers of influence.
5. Delivers presentations and portfolio recommendations to HNW prospects and intermediaries using a highly-professional consultative approach.
6. Provides superior communication and service to clients, ensuring a continual interaction that promotes trust and client retention.
7. Partners with internal resources in order to effectively service our clients.
8. Coordinates seminars and speaking engagements to promote firm capabilities.
9. Actively participates in industry groups and non-profit events to expand networking opportunities and increase firm visibility.
10. Performs related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree required in Finance, Business, Economics or Marketing. MBA preferred.
2. CFP, CFA or CIMA certification preferred.
3. 20+ years investment management experience, with proven wealth management sales experience.
4. FINRA Series 7, 63 and 65 required.
5. Self-motivated and self-disciplined with the ability to excel working from a satellite location.
6. Willingness to travel within the assigned region on a consistent basis.
7. Comprehensive industry and product knowledge with excellent presentation and communication skills.
8. Ability to counsel/advise sophisticated investors in all areas of high-net-worth services.
