Fund Administration Product Analyst II
Team Overview:
The Fund Administration Product Solutions Team (FAPS) team aligns with the Global Fund Administration Business lines to support and ensure we are operating as one cohesive business line globally by practice. The FAPS team is involved in the Development, Support, Globalization, and Reporting efforts for Fund Administration. The FAPS team also supports the Fund Administration Product Executive in defining and communicating the Global Product strategy. By centralizing these tasks, the FAPS team is ensuring that processes are not being created and executed on in silos. This leads to a more efficient and scalable operating model.
The FAPS team also works closely with business lines, systems, and change management to identify area of investment that are aligned with the Product’s overall strategy. This has been instrumental in defining IRG initiatives and ensuring they align with the firm's TVD strategy as well as executing on our Globalization initiative.
The FAPS team is also responsible for Technology Oversight within Fund Administration. Along with business and systems colleagues, the team is directly involved with assessing “Build vs. Buy” on technology decisions to support each discipline. These decisions are based on whether the technology itself can differentiate BBH for our competitors.
Vendor management is another core responsibility of the FAPS team within Fund Administration. Some products are supported by a single piece of technology while others are supported by multiple platforms that are tied together. The FAPS team has a strong understanding of the technology flow and drives the products forward by managing these relationships through each stage of their life cycle (Identification, negotiation, implementation, day to day production).
The FAPS team takes the lead on driving forward the Globalization initiative within Fund Administration. The team works with the business lines to identify opportunities to move tasks to high value locations and assists with the coordination and transition between the onshore and offshore offices. The team is also responsible for the oversight of the BPO relationship within Fund administration.
Role/Responsibilities:
The Fund Administration Product Analyst II will report to the Fund Administration Product Manager. This specific role will consist of managing a small group of people that is responsible for the following tasks:
• Assist in defining/executing business strategy
• Provide support for the Product in various internal forums and assist with communicating product strategy and initiatives
• Assist with cultivation/progressing of business needs as relates to firm (TVD) and IRG initiatives
• Assist in defining the product three-year plan
• Tracking of budget commitments
• Assist in the creation of product collateral for both internal and external recipients
• Contribute to and drive development priorities with collaboration from Business Lines
• Assist in the support of key Fund Administration initiatives through product management and process improvement analysis
• Manage vendor through various phases of vendor relationships (Negotiation, Implementation, Day to Day Production, Invoicing)
• Assist with assessment and execution on transitioning support tasks to align with appropriate groups (internal or managed services)
• Oversight of Offshore Production processes. Create synergies, consistency and scalability across Fund Admin disciplines globally.
• Working with business lines to regularly evaluate existing Fund Admin production tasks for transition to BPO model or high value location
• Standardize globalization transition workflows both within discipline and product level, performance tracking and reporting. Ensure KPIs are being reported and reviewed regularly, and that discrepancies are escalated and resolved in a timely manner.
• Target areas of weakness in existing globalization steady state processes and implement fundamental changes/create automation to improve core functions. Track errors and misstatements during reporting cycles and evaluate additional training needs. Apply lessons learned to make future transitions successful.
• Provide oversight of Metrics reporting globally for Fund Admin, (Productivity, Quality, Globalization)
Education level and/or relevant experience(s)
• BS/BA degree and/or equivalent work experience
• 5 to 7 plus years of related industry experience consisting of Fund Accounting and/or Fund Administration experience
• Prior supervisory or management experience
