Job Description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Provide technical risk evaluations on HPR and large WC clients through comprehensive analyses of insured’s operations. Offer solutions to improve each client's safety program beyond its existing level.
• Determine the accounts requiring loss control service through review of carrier loss reports, discussion with underwriter or executive or as requested by client. Direct insurance carrier / internal Loss Control team members on service activities.
• Develop technical trending reports using Enterprise Risk Management and in-depth loss source analysis reports.
• Document opinions of risk in reports that accurately describe account operations and exposures, including risk recommendations for control or elimination of identified loss sources.
• Develop Client Service Plans to direct Loss Control carrier partners and internal Loss Control Specialists when required.
• Provide resources to clients to enable them to implement the safety plan.
• Assist clients in meeting regulatory and contractual requirements.
• Respond to (high-level) technical inquiries and provide technical support to clients and staff.
• Speak at Safety and Health Conferences and other Risk management Related Training / educational seminars.
• Set priorities and manage workflow to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate processing of transactions and other responsibilities.
• Establish and maintain relationships at the management/decision-making level of clients serviced. Further the objectives through client visits and other client contacts.
• Maintains a cordial and effective relationship with brokers, clients, co-workers, carriers, and other business contacts.
• Keep informed and supports / sits on technical committees.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• College education and /or (minimum) 10 years of equivalent Insurance Loss Control / Safety and Health experience.
• Has achieved CSP or equivalent Safety and Health Certifications.
• Certified instructor in OSHA 10 / 30, National Safety Council Training Programs and other additional safety related (State) certificate programs
• Knowledge of insurance products and usages and commitment to complete educational requirements.
• Expert knowledge of rating and underwriting procedures, coverages, and industry operations to effectively manage and maintain accounts.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing with others to explain complex issues, receives and interprets complex information, and responds appropriately.
• Interacts with others effectively by utilizing good communication skills, cooperating purposefully, and providing information and guidelines, as needed, to achieve the business goals.
• Is able to respond to emergency or priority requests on short notice and at non-standard hours.
