Job Description
ABOUT THE JOB
The Insurance Advisor works to profitably deliver all aspects of Life, Long Term Care, and Disability insurance solutions, by identifying, designing, recommending, and implementing innovative solutions to Key Private Bank (KPB) and KeyBank existing clients. Develops strong relationships with clients to determine their needs, goals, and obstacles. Provides general education of the Insurance Advisory Team’s capabilities and solutions to KPB team members and other internal partners within a mutli-state territory (Utah, Idaho, Colorado).
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Delivery of insurance solutions to KPB and KeyBank client relationships
• Lead in the identification, development, recommendation, and implementation of creative insurance solutions for each client’s specific needs
• Present recommendations to clients utilizing meaningful presentations and reports
• Develop an understanding of client’s strategic priorities and appetite for risk
• Communicate and capture the value that KPB brings to clients
• Carry out and attain the mission and the goals of KPB
• Develop and expand KPB client relationships
• Confidentially, professionally and effectively present materials and convey information to a variety of audiences
• Establish credibility (knowledge/trust) both externally as well as internally
• Understand the impact of proposed strategies in order to provide periodic guidance and support to the other members of the KPB team
• Prepare policy reviews, as required
• Successfully meet or exceed client and revenue growth targets
• Visit clients independently or in conjunction with other members of the client’s KPB Relationship team, as needed
• Participates in classes for skill and knowledge development. Maintains appropriate state licensing and securities licensing
• Must adhere to pertinent laws, regulations, Key’s compliance policy and external compliance requirements
• Assume other job responsibilities as assigned by department manager
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s Degree and at least three years of experience.
• Life and Health Licenses
• Series 6/63 Licenses
• Proficiency in computer systems, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Problem solving, negotiation, persuasion, and sales skills
• Knowledge of insurance markets, products, services, carrier procedures, methodologies, risk and operations
• Good listening and organizational skills, attention to detail, goal oriented and high degree of self-discipline
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent relationship and technical skills
• Ability to obtain and maintain required license(s)
• Ability to communicate financial concepts and analyze various data components
• Ability to work in an office environment
• Ability to travel to client and KPB office locations, when necessary
