Job Purpose
The Director of Talent Acquisition (TA) provides strategic leadership and management oversight for the organization’s talent acquisition needs. The Director oversees a team of recruiting professionals that perform full lifecycle recruiting for a broad range of management, professional and hard-to-fill positions. Responsibilities include identifying and implementing proactive recruiting/sourcing strategies and partnering with HR and business unit leaders to drive talent acquisition activities and processes that meet current and future organizational needs.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Develops strategies, programs and tools needed to identify and attract the most qualified talent to meet Jackson’s future growth demands.
• Consults with management to forecast talent needs, identify talent requirements, and develop recruiting action plans.
• Partners with regional HR Directors to coordinate recruiting best practices.
• Identifies and applies emerging recruiting processes/tools (e.g. sourcing, technology, social and business networking, marketing campaigns, etc.) to cultivate a pipeline of top talent.
• Identifies and analyzes key workforce issues; evaluates internal and external conditions and develops plans to address potential opportunities and business risks.
• Delivers accurate and timely reports with specific TA metrics (e.g. staff forecasting, quality of hires, time-to-fill, ROI, agency costs, etc.).
• Develops, deploys, and manages recruitment policies, processes, and systems.
• Directly manages searches for highly senior or specialized positions.
• Implements effective college recruiting programs for the identification of future talent.
• Leads, manages, and provides feedback to the Talent Acquisition team.
• Assists with managing the annual talent acquisition budget and business planning process.
• Manages vendor relationships; negotiates contracts according to budgetary guidelines.
• Leads external branding efforts to position Jackson as an employer of choice.
Other Duties
• Enhances the effectiveness of the Taleo recruiting system.
• Supports the planning, design and execution of HR projects, as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Job Requirements (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
• Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing innovative and effective recruitment and talent management strategies and programs.
• Ability to effectively consult with senior management to identify their talent acquisition and management needs.
• Thorough understanding of cutting-edge sourcing strategies and methodologies to include utilization of social media to recruit and expand employment brand.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage competing demands and priorities in a fast-paced, high growth environment.
• Strong leadership, managerial and interpersonal skills.
• Solid project management, planning and organizational skills.
• Experience in the design and implementation of recruiting metrics; dashboard, scorecard and/or other recruiting performance measurement tools.
• Strong influence and negotiating skills for interacting with management, candidates, and vendors.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, HR information systems, and previous experience working with applicant tracking systems (e.g. Taleo preferred).
Education and Experience Required
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or equivalent experience and/or education.
• Minimum of ten or more years of recruiting experience.
• Minimum of five or more years of experience managing a team.
• Experience in financial services and/or insurance is preferred.
