What You Need To Know
The Director of Compliance is responsible for managing the day-to-day regulatory compliance functions at Movement Mortgage (herein the “Company”). This position will monitor and manage compliance risks associated with products and services, including risk identification, assessment and management of the control environment and ongoing monitoring of key risk and performance indicators. This position ensures compliance with applicable federal, state and local consumer protection, fair lending laws, and other mortgage-banking regulations. Additionally, the individual will conduct appropriate research, performs analysis, and provides recommendations to management. This position provides support and guidance to Chief Compliance Officer and other executives to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations including:
• Develops, recommends, and obtains approval for appropriate policies and procedures.
• Researches, reviews, and interprets policies, procedures, forms, disclosure notifications and documents and communicates requirements to applicable departments and managers
• Acts as a resource to lending and retail units and assists them in interpreting compliance regulations
• Provides guidance, advice, and training via written or oral communication.
• Performs tasks related to conducting compliance reviews and audits, in accordance with the established schedule
• Manages HMDA policy development, LAR submission, testing, and reporting.
• Oversees third party sub-servicer audits and compliance requirements.
• Reviews and manages monthly fair lending testing and reporting to executive management
• Ensures all departments are compliant and monitors areas requiring improvement.
• Responsible for monitoring new legal and regulatory requirements applicable to the assigned lines of business. This includes:
◦ Communicating changes across the lines of business, to which assigned;
◦ Overseeing new legal or regulatory guidance implementation, where applicable; and
◦ Maintaining ongoing compliance with legal requirements
• Manages Associate Directors and Analysts
• Stays abreast of regulatory and risk environment for the identification of emerging risks
What We Are Looking For
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in related field; or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of relevant industry work experience
• Experience in residential mortgage lending origination and servicing
• Financial services compliance testing and monitoring/auditing experience preferred
• Experience managing fair lending projects and/or testing preferred
• Experience testing and/or reporting HMDA LAR data
• Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) designation preferred
