Key Responsibilities:
Assist business units by performing various assigned duties that are intended to provide experience and build skills for future development. Responsibilities may include gathering and organizing actuarial data; enhancing/producing analytic templates; reviewing rates, rules and loss experience to develop and implement rates; competitive analysis and research; help research and implement business solutions that impact product growth & profitability.
Principal Responsibilities:
State Product Management (Actuarial)
• Assesse and evaluate property and casualty insurance product information, competitive environment, and financial and pricing elements to help achieve profitability goals.
• Develop and enhancing excel based templates for geographic and market segmentation analysis.
• Product Ratemaking and ad-hoc analyses.
Countrywide Product Management
• Develop analytical frameworks using company metrics, industry & macro trends that would help understand markets or geography, forecast loss results, respond to unfavorable market conditions and drive growth strategy.
Claims Analytics
• Prepare detailed analysis to support Claims Operational team, identifying key drivers behind Claims metrics.
Ability to work full 10 weeks from June 4, 2018 to August 10, 2018
Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree program at an accredited college/university with expected graduation date between December 2018 and May 2021.
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
• Students academically involved in major that relates to their field of interest: business, data analytics/science, insurance.
• Relevant campus involvement, work experience, and/or community service experience.
• Strong technical curiosity and entrepreneurial mindset, analytical and problem solving.
• Exceptional quantitative skills, strong written and oral communication.
• Inquisitive nature to learn how other industries/competitors/MetLife divisions are influencing customers to make the switch to paperless adoption.
• Creativity – develop new ideas to influence customers to switch to paperless.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
