Job Description:
This subject matter expert will be the thought leader in the domain of developing and enhancing statistical models used across Fitch covering all asset classes. His/her main responsibilities include:
Coordinate with ratings team to develop robust credit modelling methodology
• Research and select most appropriate statistical approaches
• Share statistical modelling best practice
• Evaluate the soundness of the statistical modelling methodology and data validity
• Ensure the proper use of underlying data and data sampling technique
• Examine the statistical results and the statistical significance
• Help to interpret and use the statistical results properly
Lead the model development process including model design, implementation, testing, and documentation
• Provide the brain power for the model design and architecture
• Provide guidance and training to junior members for model implement, testing and documentation
• In charge of the project management and quality control
In this position, you will have the opportunity to team up with other talented modelling specialists to implement, test and document various statistical models. Throughout these projects, you can gain valuable credit modelling experience, a good understanding of credit rating methodology as well as the overall model governance framework and the regulatory environment.
Position Requirements:
• Master’s degree or higher in statistics or other quantitative disciplines
• Solid statistical and modelling experience in R, Excel or Python
• 8 – 15yrs experience in financial modelling preferably in RMBS
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to clearly convey technical modelling concepts
• Ability to solve problems using critical, rational and creative thinking
• Self-motivated and good ability to manage timelines across multiple projects
• Thorough attention to detail and strong work ethic
• Previous exposure to credit rating analysis a plus
