To support our ongoing growth, the First Midwest Human Resources team is redefining our human capital vision. We are seeking a highly skilled, business-minded, experienced leader for Senior Vice President (SVP), Talent Development to help lead that effort.
Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, and as part of a team of 40+ HR professionals supporting approximately 3,000 colleagues, you will be responsible for all strategic talent development activities including learning and development, workforce planning, diversity and inclusion, onboarding, engagement and succession planning. You will serve as a resource and confidant to the CHRO and executive leadership team on talent and organizational effectiveness issues and, as part of the HR leadership team, you will be a key influencer of the overall human capital vision.
Main
Responsibilities
• Lead, create and facilitate efforts across the entire spectrum of talent development: strategic workforce planning, learning and development, leadership planning, executive development, inclusion and diversity, employee engagement and retention as well as organizational design and effectiveness.
• Create an integrated talent management and development strategy, aligned to the company's business strategies and growth model. Lead the execution of this strategy across the organization, in partnership with all key business and HR leaders.
• Develop, coach and direct a team of functional/technical professionals, building a high level of credibility as effective and responsive talent experts to internal business partners.
• Work directly with CHRO, HR leaders and executive leadership teams to assess talent, identify growth potential and execute developmental and succession planning.
• Lead efforts to identify and design innovative and tailored learning programs to support strategic priorities with a focus on creating highly-effective and engaging experiences including face-to-face, e-learning/multimedia (non-technical content development) and blended offerings.
• Own the development and execution of a comprehensive diversity and inclusion strategy, including programmatic efforts across the complete talent lifecycle, as well as influence business leaders to ensure they are actively promoting a diverse and inclusive work environment.
• Partner with HR business partners and business leaders to scope, assess and diagnose organization design challenges and propose potential solutions.
• Lead the deployment and execution of change management work on the most critical and transformational initiatives.
• Own the design, execution and maintenance of a premier onboarding program that includes every facet of the colleague and manager’s experience. Comprehensive program design will support new hires, internal moves and colleagues of acquired organizations.
• Lead the development, distribution and analysis of employee engagement surveys, including formation of survey objectives, implementation of the survey process, and analysis and presentation of survey results
• Analyze talent metrics, including employee engagement, performance, turnover and other data to identify trends and recommend strategies and actions.
• Oversee vendor relationships and negotiations to ensure the acquisition and implementation of appropriate programs and products fully support our talent management strategy and initiatives.
Requirements
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
• A minimum of 15 years of dynamic human resources/talent management experience.
• Demonstrated successful experience leading the design and execution of solutions that drive measurable organizational performance.
• Deep knowledge in the areas of talent strategy and related components, competency models and their practical application, talent assessment and development, modern management practices, innovative working styles and leadership development program design and implementation.
• Demonstrable experience in diagnosing organization capability requirements and translating these into practical applications, including leader development and talent management practices, processes and programs.
• Knowledge and experience with change management methodologies and leading and facilitating organization/transformational change initiatives.
• Ability to achieve goals by developing productive relationships with executive leadership across the company. Be recognized as the trusted advisor on all talent development issues.
• Excellent leadership skills, including the ability to create and lead highly effective and successful teams; experience working in environments that drove excellence, held high standards and took a practical, but creative/innovative approach to human capital and total rewards.
• Experience running projects, including defining scope, managing to budgets, driving deliverables, meeting deadlines a handling competing priorities.
• Advanced interpersonal, listening and communication skills, including presentation and facilitation skills, and a track record of effectively communicating with and influencing at all levels.
