Description
The role is expected to support the US Data Governance program as required for BCBS 239 compliance such as data analysis, data lineage documentation, and data quality issue management. The candidate will also be accountable for supporting other projects within Wholesale Credit and Market Risk (“WMR”) and ensure data standards are maintained in change management. The candidate is also expected to foster relationships with issue owners and project stakeholders throughout US Risk and participate in any relevant meetings with the US Risk senior leaders, US Line of Business and Finance representatives, and Global Risk data stewards as directed.
Impact on the Business
• Working with risk managers and internal stakeholders to perform data analysis and data lineage documentation
• Act as US WMR data steward and liaison with regional and global data stewards to resolve identified data issues.
• Participation in full project cycle up to and including testing, implementation and post production support
• Ongoing support and incremental enhancements for existing applications and processes already owned by WMR Risk Control in compliance to BCBS 239.

Operational Effectiveness & Control
• Ensure that all procedures and best practices defined by WMR Risk Control are followed.

• Diligent confirmation that data quality issue solutions meet the objectives of firm wide target operating models, including compliance with specific regulations

• Ensure compliance, operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC or regulatory standards and policies; and optimize relations with regulators by addressing any issues.

• Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.

• Implement the Group compliance policy locally by managing compliance risk in liaison with the Global Head of Compliance, Global Compliance Officer, Area Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer, ensuring adequate compliance resources and training, fostering a compliance culture and optimizing relations with regulators
Qualifications
• Minimum 2-5 years proven and progressive wholesale credit and traded risk experience.
• Previous data governance experience and knowledge of the BCBS 239 principles are required
• BS degree in business, finance, computer science, statistics, or related field.
• Proven financial, communications, systems, interpersonal, analytical, and reasoning skills
• Proficiency in MS Office application, especially Excel and PowerPoint
• Knowledge of wholesale credit risk management for products such as syndicated loans, term loans, letter of credit, guarantees etc.
• Knowledge of traded credit risk management for products such as derivatives (CDS, TRS, IRS, forwards, options), securities financing, fixed income securities (including structured products) etc.
• Some knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements for Dodd Frank, Basel III and CCAR is desirable
