Job Description Summary:
The Accounting Manager is responsible, under direction from the Controller, for a portion of the general ledger accounting function and ensuring a high level of performance accuracy. The Accounting Manager will help maintain the integrity of all accounting procedures, records and reports. This individual will also be responsible for assisting the Controller in the timely and accurate preparation of financial reports. All duties should be performed within the guidelines of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and with the company’s Internal Control Standards and objectives.

BASIC FUNCTION:
The Accounting Manager will oversee the Accounting department, in conjunction with the Controller, and maintain accounting standards within established policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE
• College degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of two years experience in Accounting in a luxury condo/hotel property.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Problem solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Exceptional organizational skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for month end process and balance sheet reconciliation for hotel and condominium. Prepare cash flow forecast on a monthly basis. Oversee preparation of accurate and timely monthly financial statements. Maintain all contracts, leases and other legal and financial records. Implement and support property operating policies and procedures. Operate in compliance with all local, state and federal laws and government regulations. Coordinate all financial audits by outside concerns. Coordinate all internal financial training and development of department heads and managers. Assist Controller with basic day to day operations of the Accounting department.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
Respond to any reasonable task assigned by Director of Financial Operations and General Manager. Attend and conduct meetings as required both within the department and within the property’s organizational structure. Ensure effective solution oriented communication within the department and with other operation departments.
