Global Wealth Management provides services that are tailored to each client's investment objectives, risk tolerance, and financial needs. Products include mutual funds, stocks, bonds, and alternative investments where appropriate, as well as banking, mortgages, insurance and annuities. Operations is one of the largest divisions in the firm and has diverse responsibilities, in particular a continuous focus on seeking ways to improve processes and controls that span front, middle, and back office, while actively supporting the development of new businesses, structures and markets.
Private Banking Operations (PBO) provides Operational support to the Banking and Lending business within Morgan Stanley Wealth Management. As part of their support model, PBO has a dedicated Change the Bank team which is responsible for management of large scale programs across Banking, Lending, Digital and Margin / Collateral Management. The team collaborates with stakeholders in Operations, IT, the Business Unit and many other infrastructure teams to analyze, define, test and deliver Technology and Operational solutions. Members of the team are expected to take leadership roles in their respective programs as well as to take personal accountability for delivering first class solutions and products. The ability to foster and develop strong working relationships with business and IT counterparts is a critical success factor.
This role is for a Digital Program lead. The successful candidate will report to the head of Private Banking Operations CTB and oversee a team of 2 FTEs and 15 consultants. They will be responsible for successful delivery of several key initiatives including:
• Ongoing program of strategic enhancements to the Private Banking Groups Digital platform
• Represent Private Banking Operations in key Digital programs with cross organizational impact
Key responsibilities include:
Coordinate engagement of Operations, Technology and Business partner resources and subject matter experts
Lead and direct project activities, meetings, understand dependencies, and manage timelines
Manage issues and decisions to timely resolution. Communicate with senior management teams to escalate/resolve project conflicts & needs
Manage a cohesive plan across all work streams, ensuring a coordinated approach when utilizing client service individuals for input, testing, etc.
Specific Deliverables include
Program governance structure
Detailed plan and associated schedule for the development of technology requirements
Business Requirements
Testing plan and Execution Approach
Service Model (people, process and technology) requirements for incremental activity on the new platform(s)
Detailed plan and associated schedule for organizational readiness requirements
Qualifications & skills required:
Must possess college degree
6+ years of experience in program/ project management, process engineering or strategy within a financial services or operations environment
Knowledge of Wealth Management products and services especially Banking and Digital preferred
Project management skills: The candidate must have the ability to create practical and comprehensive implementation plans and partner with all levels of management and stakeholders to gain consensus. Experience of managing multiple projects or engagements and their associated budgets is essential.
Client management and teamwork skills: The candidate must have demonstrated ability in being flexible and working with stakeholders and colleagues at all experience levels. Experience of engaging and influencing senior leaders within the organization is essential.
