Job Description
The Solutions Development Director is a proven subject matter expert in Merchant and Acquirer solutions. She / he will define and improve the way Visa adds value to merchants and acquirers in LAC.
The position plays a role in the Merchant/Acquirer organization, which is in many aspects,
equivalent to what the Global Products team performs on the issuer side of the
Visa business. She / he will be the interact with all teams involved in developing products and solutions for merchants and acquirers (mainly in GMSS, Global Products and Risk organizations) and the market teams in LAC.
This team will be responsible for leading the creation of a diverse portfolio of products and
services to merchants and acquirers in LAC. This will include bringing and adapting global developments to the realities of the LAC markets, as well as developing solutions to cater for the specific needs of the partners in the region. These products and solutions will include the use and adoption of digital payments, loyalty, processing, fraud & security and data analytics
solutions. This portfolio may combine Visa products, solutions and capabilities, with those of external 3rd parties.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct responsibility for a portfolio of Products and solutions for merchants and acquirers across LAC.
Take the lead role in creating and/or amending LAC value offer for merchant- or acquirer-related solutions
Lead solution development efforts that best address customer needs.
Collaborate closely with Global Product Management teams to ensure the region’s requirements and characteristics are clearly understood and addressed in the development of products and solutions.
Have a deep understanding of the product and regulatory requirements within region, so that Visa can successfully roll-out or develop solutions in LAC markets.
Identify,develop and implement solutions to enable new acceptance and Visa processing
opportunities, through new point of sale technologies and digital innovation
Become a trusted advisor with country and regional teams by deeply understanding their needs and aligning their needs to our solutions.
Create and manage partnerships to facilitate and accelerate the implementation of solutions.
Develop insights and recommendations into the opportunities and challenges of the Payment Market of LAC countries, articulate them appropriately and work across teams to develop solutions and products, which address those opportunities in a profitable way.
This position will be a part Visa LAC’s Merchant Solutions leadership team, and also
expected to play an active role in the regional product development practices
and organization.
Qualifications
Graduate, MBA preferred.
10+ years of professional experience, with a strong component of Product Management
and Consultative Selling environment.
Fluent in English and Spanish. Portuguese language skills strongly preferred.
Coming from Payments, Digital, Technology, Acquiring and Merchant-driven or -related
business
Previous experience working for acquirers or payment gateways is highly desirable
Experience driving merchant / acquiring solutions within the LAC region – preferred
Results driven.
Highly client oriented.
Strong influential skills at multiple levels, including Executive / C-level
Strong interpersonal and relationship skills
Drive, enthusiasm and creativity are key attributes.
Highly organized with exposure of project / program management.
Solid strategic thinking and execution capabilities
Solves a range of complex commercial and solution problems
Availability to travel ~ 25% of time (domestically and internationally).
