Description
Position Summary
Senior Instructional Designer responsibilities include designing and developing comprehensive learning solutions and content, including researching, pilot testing, validation and maintenance. Partner with subject matter experts (SME’s) and stakeholders to assess training requirements and specifications. Design dynamic and compelling instruction using Storyline2 for delivery via web-based media and classroom with a focus in e-learning.
Major Areas of Accountability
• Utilize solid instructional design skills for a variety of learning projects that may be large or complex in scope. Collaborate with SMEs and stakeholders to design and create storyboards for the development of learning modules and training material. Design and develop classroom, online or virtual instruction and Mirco Learning
• Ensure learning objectives and modules are efficient and effective at developing skills and professional knowledge that drive business results. Develop learning assessments and/or tools to measure learning effectiveness with Storyline2
• Focus primarily on developing new and modifying existing e-learning content.
• Create comprehensive design documents that describe the business needs, audience needs, high level tasks, delivery content, supporting materials, evaluations/assessments and complementary learning approaches.
• Design and develop training programs based on identified training needs and timing. Assure use of appropriate instructional strategy and media.
• Conduct needs assessments and analysis. Work with SME’s and course sponsors to collect feedback and integrate into upcoming courses.
• Create project plans for design and development of learning solutions. Document and communicate design decisions and strategies to key partners within the line of business. Keep track of projects and status using project management software.
• May mentor team members to teach best practices in instructional design concepts, techniques and adult learning theory.
• Design to drive business goals and metrics in an ever-evolving enviroment
Qualifications
Required
• Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Training and Development or Education with focus on Adult Learning or equivalent related education and work experience.
• 5+ years of learning and development course design. Proven work experience in instructional design with instructional technology, e.g., Articulate Storyline II. Exposure to Storyline360 is preferred
• Knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Comfortable working with SME’s and stakeholders.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Attention to detail in grammar and punctuation, visual design and layout, audio accuracy, and effective presentation.
Preferred
• CPLP – Certified Professional in Learning and Performance.
• Experience with designing highly interactive WebEx sessions and gamification.
