Corporate Banking Operations Manager, Vice President
Job Summary
This position has responsibility for Managing a team that perform daily Corporate Loan Closings and Amendments and Loan Servicing activity within a robust portfolio of Loan Products/ Business Lines. The Position is responsible for managing both the MUB and BTMU Member Loan Servicing functions. The position has management responsibility for a total of 37 staff, including 1 AVP, 6 Analysts and 30 Senior Specialists.. The position requires in-depth knowledge of the Corporate Loan market, as well as experience managing work flows, complex loan servicing activities and handling escalations from internal and external counterparts. This position also requires managing a team utilizing different loan systems (AFS –MUB , LoanApp/OVS – BTMU)
Major Responsibilities
• Strong knowledge of the Syndicated and Commercial Loan products and markets
• Ability to review and interpret legal documentation supporting these products
• Understands market conventions for managing these products
• In depth knowledge of market initiatives to streamline and automate support functions
• Strong knowledge of E2E operations related to Syndicated, Commercial Loan and Securitized product markets:
• Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for Syndicated and Commercial loans and ensure all transactions within Corporate Loan Operations (CLO) are handled properly in order to minimize bank’s exposure to operational risks and to protect the bank from losses by ensuring compliance with the Bank’s policies and procedures concerning loans, letters of credit.
• Management of all products currently handled by the U.S. Wholesale / IBD business line, including Asian Corporate Banking, Syndicated Lending, Securitization, Collateralized Loan obligations, Loan Trading, SAD / Non Performing assets etc…
• Management and Prioritization of of Daily Loan Servicing workflow activities
• Knowledge of Banking Regulations and Standard Practices
• Knowledge of all Loan Operations processes and market standards
• Ensure we provide our customers with “best in class” service
• Ensures all daily, monthly and periodic controls are being followed.
• Ensure all operational Service Level Agreements are being met
• Expertise in continuously reviewing workflow and the ability to functionalize ideas for organizational change. Also, ensure all departmental structural and procedural changes are implemented where necessary
• Periodically reviews the relevant procedures to ensure appropriate control and consistency with Head Office guidelines and bank regulations
• Ensures adherence to all bank policies and procedures relative to Regulatory Compliance including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, Anti-Money Laundering Act, Privacy Act, Regulations Q& X, Customer identification Program, Know Your Customer, Suspicious Activity Reports
Qualifications
• Knowledge of a broad range of financial products: ability to make good judgments and have tact for solving problems in a fast paced environment; ability to effectively deal with customers, investors/lenders/Agent banks, relationship managers and syndications teams.
• Have the ability to assess risk and the exercise judgment concerning complex problems related to Loan Operations
• Working knowledge of various Lending systems and processes
• Expertise in continuously reviewing workflow and recommended organizational changes
• Preferably 4 - 6 years of experience in a commercial banking environment or related industry
• 4 year college degree required or equivalent experience
