Minimum Requirements
¦ Minimum Education: A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related discipline
¦ Minimum Experience: Two (2) years experience as a Corporate Banker II, or eight (8) years of commercial banking experience, including a minimum of five (5) years in middle market or large corporate banking
¦ Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
• Knowledge of commercial loan products, credit analysis techniques, disbursement procedures, underwriting functions, etc.
• Knowledge of commercial/corporate loan structures, setting of appropriate loan and financial covenants, and experience with industry standard loan documentation
• Knowledge of universally accepted loan practices
• Proficient at the advanced level with Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel
• Ability to express ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Strong work ethic, with proven ability to generate business.
• Proven ability to work in teams
Job Description
Job Summary:
As a senior member of the Corporate Banking team, works with customers with revenues >$75MM. A Corporate Banker III is responsible for generating new business in a specific geography, through stand alone, club, or syndicate client transactions. Prepares and presents loan memos, either new or renewal, works with attorneys on loan documentation issues, consistently monitors and addresses ongoing credit issues. Further contributes to bank growth and profitability by growing deposits; facilitates cross-selling by referring prospects to Treasury Management, Retail, Community, FMS and CRE as appropriate. A Corporate Banker III assists in the training of Corporate Banker Associate team members as part of the Corporate Banking business development program, and provides guidance and counsel to lower-level Corporate Bankers as part of their ongoing growth. Assists in day-to-day operations, as well as special projects.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
¦ Plans and executes a strategic direct calling program for large corporate companies in a designated geography, as well as executes a strategic networking program on centers of influence.
¦ Prepares analyses, reports and presentations for review and approval. Ensures all transactions and processing are in compliance with regulatory and company guidelines, policies and procedures.
¦ Develops and maintains relationships with large corporate market prospects to actively market and solicit commercial loan; works simultaneously toward the growth and retention of existing commercial clients. Facilitates cross-selling by referring prospects to Treasury Management, Retail, Community, FMS and CRE as appropriate.
¦ Works with Corporate Banker Associates and lower-level Corporate Banker team members performing basic research, financial and statistical analysis to determine and support the credit worthiness of new and existing clients.
¦ Responsible for the preparation and delivery of credit presentations, engagement of attorneys and execution of loan documentation, ongoing monitoring of credits, preparation of appropriate memos for waivers, amendments, and modifications to existing customer credit facilities, and where appropriate, the booking and day-to-day administrative issues related to client base.
¦ Participates in special projects as defined by the department manager.
¦ Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion.
¦ Performs other related duties as required.
