This is both a tremendous honor and an important responsibility for those who accept the challenge. If you are looking to make a valuable difference for people everywhere — and for yourself — we may have the right place for you.
Who we are…
TSYS is a leading financial services provider, and the technology behind many successful financial brands, products and programs. We have a people-centered focus - with our customers and within our team. That focus has helped us to innovate and grow our business to where it is today. It’s also helped us build a close-knit team that enjoys new ideas and solving problems together.
You might fit well in the Digital Innovation team if you enjoy technology, are passionate about the things you create, and enjoy setting your own direction. This includes sharing opinions within the team, taking initiative to learn new things and putting in the work to make our products the best.
As a Director …
You are responsible for supporting the development of individuals, leading work initiatives and providing direction for the Digital Service Reliability Engineering (SRE) team. You’ll need the ability to understand the underlying technology tool stack and help to create targeted training plans and associated documentation. You’ll work in a rapid environment where there aren’t always clear specifications or rules about how something should be done, where it’s up to you to figure things out and keep things moving. Some other things you’ll do regularly include:
• Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services—from inception and design, through deployment, operation and refinement
• Support services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, developing software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning and launch reviews
• Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency and overall system health
• Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems
• Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation, and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity
• Establish and execute SRE models for legacy applications within the Digital Innovation division; leverage the SRE model to help other applications in the enterprise adopt similar models, including automation of legacy connection points
• Attend sessions where we eat pizza and talk about the latest technology
• 10% travel to Alpharetta, Georgia office

You know what to do to make things happen. Your skills are broad – business, technology, user experience, leadership – and you easily transition between those. You like to leverage modern tools, and a simple but organized process to keep the teams and stakeholders on track and in-line with organizational business and technical objectives. You’re also comfortable in a role where a job title is not considered the final definition of who you are, but just a starting point.
For this role, you bring the following qualifications…
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, information technology or business information systems or related field
• Minimum five years as a developer, business analyst, team lead, product owner or other delivery role
• Experience working in an agile development environment is preferred

• Experience with open technologies such as Java, Git, Jira, Jenkins, Docker, Kibana, Kubernetes, REST
• Proven ability to work in cross-functional teams towards mutual success
• Fluent communication - both speaking and writing – and in a variety of styles including legal, business requirements and marketing
• 10% travel required to Alpharetta, Georgia office
