The Senior Social Media Manager leads the strategic planning, vision and execution for social channels representing Capital Group and American Funds brands. Through a thorough understanding of digital channel best practices, the Senior Social Media Manager drives brand penetration in support of marketing objectives. Ensuring excellence and brand consistency in social media channels to include improvement of capabilities and channel innovation within the Marketing organization. This is an exciting opportunity to build a wor1d class social media marketing program from the ground up. We're looking for candidates with a passion for social media, expertise in launching and managing social programs on Linkedln, Facebook, YouTube and Twitter and the ability to build high quality, long term programs in a highly complex, regulated and integrated corporate environment.
Primary responsibilities:
• Develops social channel strategy and sets the vision for the digital team. Oversees budget development and ensures adherence to channel plan.
• Oversees social media project management, execution and timely delivery of digital channel programs and plans across business segments at American Funds and Capital Group.
• Leads build out of channel capabilities and drives innovation within digital properties to include social media to increase brand penetration within key customer segments.
• Cultivates a continued passion for the American Funds and Capital Group brands, fostering creativity within the team.
• Facilitates consultations with outside agencies to ensure targeted strategies and business goals are met. Oversees management of agency relationships to include agency budgets and quality of agency deliverables.
• Ensures excellence by staying current with digital innovation and trends to deliver high-quality channel experiences and to recommend technology and process improvements to enhance the organization’s competencies.
• Works with other groups (Marketing, Digital Experience, Business Intelligence, IT) to ensure the social program fits as part of a larger, integrated marketing program.
• Leads a team of associates, including career development and project direction/leaders
Qualifications:
• 8+ years of experience in social media
• Identifies issues and recommends solutions on complex and broad matters.
• Plans and leads the work of diverse, multiple teams.
• Influence senior business leaders on strategic business matters.
• Demonstrates effective written and oral communication skills with a diverse group of associates and senior business leaders.
• Collaborates and develops/maintains working relationships inside and outside the organization to enable effective completion of business objectives.
• Experience working in an Agile environment, with a focus on communication, iteration and speed
• Demonstrates ability to lead and manage projects across multiple teams or groups.
• Fluent in all social channels, in particular Linkedln, Facebook, YouTube and Twitter.
• Demonstrates working knowledge of web properties and SEO and ability to apply it to work assignment.
• BA/BS degree require
