The Director, Longevity Risk Transfer will be charged with supporting and at times leading the coordination and execution of most transactional activities across functional units in support of Prudential's Longevity Risk Transfer (LRT) activities, which is the international component of Prudential’s rapidly growing Global Pension Risk Transfer business. These activities include coordinating the bid process and supporting the team’s preparation for discussions with market intermediaries and counterparties with respect to live transaction opportunities. The successful candidate will provide key leadership in our efforts to support aggressive business growth while maintaining an appropriately controlled operating environment. She or he will also support achieving business objectives with respect to transaction negotiation and execution efforts by directly assisting the transaction leader for specific clients and deals. Transaction support responsibilities will include guiding cross-functional team activities toward organizational readiness for quoting as well as direct participation in negotiating price and terms for new transactions.
The Director, Longevity Risk Transfer will collaborate with senior management, product leads of the PRT Business and all supporting centers of expertise and will be a leader in creating and driving appropriate bid delivery and transaction execution for the international LRT team of Prudential’s Global PRT business.
Major Responsibilities:
• Accountable for directly supporting growth objectives – guiding the cross-functional team in quoting, winning, negotiating and closing of complex financial transactions and supporting expansion of business capability leading to new business opportunities in the international LRT market
• Drive environment of control – regularly evaluate, identify and implement control process improvements related to individual transactions. Specifically, with respect to the bid process, helping to ensure that all cross-functional areas maintain appropriate documentation and have completed all necessary analysis and completed all appropriate governance requirements.
• Guide collaboration efforts to seize opportunities - key responsibility of the position is to coordinate activities of cross-functional areas supporting individual transactions in the International LRT business.
• Support the building and maintenance of business processes, including production of client materials - develop term sheets and other materials used to respond to LRT bid requests and maintain cross-functional standards for responding to indicative quote requests and RFPs.
Qualifications
• Bachelors Degree in math, related actuarial, finance, economics. Advanced degree or actuarial credentials a plus.
• 8 years of work experience in Actuarial, Banking, Financial Services and / or Insurance.
• Demonstrate well developed leadership skills.
• Demonstrate the ability to present to clients as well as senior leaders.
• Experience supporting or leading institutional financial transactions from the bid phase through to closing.
• Demonstrate extremely strong analytical reasoning.
• Successful Actuarial, CFA or FRM exams a plus.
• Travel domestically and internationally may be occasionally required.
