The person in this position is responsible for servicing, retaining and developing East Asian commercial insurance business in the US as a client director of US & Canada Client Engagement Team. The person is required to manage following three key responsibilities:
1) Portfolio Management
a. Manage assigned portfolio of accounts from a sales and marketing perspective
b. Implement / support the marketing strategies to achieve production targets (renewal/new business) to meet overall team targets
c. Drive the AIG value proposition and ensure that clients are aware of the complete array of products and services (both Commercial and Consumer) available and enhance exposure generally to AIG
d. Support plans to improve RAP, enhance service and strengthen relationships with the clients
2) Client Management
a. Be the senior point of contact for the assigned accounts and develop and manage regional /global accounts plans that deliver value, maintain regional/global customer relationships and manage regional/global client satisfaction for dedicated accounts
b. Become trusted advisor to clients by delivering more value to risk managers, business line managers, CFO and other senior management teams of the clients and giving them more support in their risk related interactions
c. Ensure clients are engaged through implementation of best practices and escalation protocols
d. Develop strategic links with the customer including potential investments, distribution plays and opportunities for other divisions of AIG to enhance touch points revenue e. Identify, maintain regular contact with key business influences at Asian teams of major brokers on assigned accounts and build strong partnership with them
3) Internal Management and Others
a. Build and manage collaboration with all AIG stakeholders across functions such as underwriters, risk engineers, claims managers, treasury, BDMs, other client directors and zone presidents to support the assigned accounts regionally and globally
b. Initiate and manage action plans to support the profitable growth of overall Asian commercial business by hosting client seminars, issuing white papers and thought leadership, sharing best practices in Asian business and producing the industry analysis reports
c. Support change management with the commitment to grow and develop team members to ensure Client Engagement team can successfully work across all levels of the client's organization
d. Identify and develop new Asian customer segments (middle market and SME market) for AIG’s commercial business in the US
Job Requirements:
• 8-10+ years commercial insurance business experiences with major accounts especially Japanese and Korean multinationals
• Proven commercial client relationship management experience
• Ability to build relationships, internally and externally
• Ability to work across multiple areas of an organization
• Ability to influence clients, brokers, peers, senior executives and staff
• Strong problem solving abilities
• Native level Asian language capabilities (Japanese, Korean and/or Chinese) preferred
• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
• Business major (finance, accounting, risk management, economy, legal, business administration, engineering, science, etc.) preferred
• Insurance professional designation (CPCU, ARM, AU, CIC, etc.,) preferred
• Property & casualty broker license or the equivalent preferred
