Elavon is currently seeking a Technical Product Owner, who has a passion to innovate and enjoys working with customers and technical teams to come up with solutions for complex and ambiguous problems. The successful candidate has strong technical program management experience and can work across technical teams, understand project technologies, approaches, and trade-offs, and can provide technical solutions, system design/approaches, and/or architecture. He/she will work with a team to understand the various steps and dependencies to build integrated solutions, interact with both internal and external systems on the Converge product, as well as work with the team to deliver these capabilities on time. The candidate will be self-driven, detail-oriented, and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment. Additional responsibilities include:
• Takes Epics Ideas, works on user stories, and drives out technical requirements and use cases;
• Schedules, meets, and transfers other team's technical capabilities and learns how our team can leverage them;
• Determines technical dependencies and creates high-level functional diagrams;
• Creates clear, concise, and accurate communication (both verbal and written) with engineers and commercial product owners that describe technical needs and problems that define technical solutions;
• Translates technical decisions into business trade-offs;
• Provides input into technical solutions, system design/approaches, and/or architecture;
• Maintains the technical ability to drive right outcomes, design simplicity, and speed of execution;
• Works across teams and influences project technologies, approaches, tradeoffs, vendors, and external partners to make technical changes;
• Understands design approaches (within technical domain) and is able to spot risks and asks the right technical questions to ensure appropriate trade-offs are made;
• Manages communication of cross-functional teams and drives team(s)/partners to meet product goals;
• Defines design and technical requirements;
• Accelerates progress by driving crisp, timely decisions and clears blockers, as well as escalates appropriately; and
• Maintains understanding of system design approaches and payments domain, as well as knows the consequences that can arise from poor technical decisions.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
• 10 or more years of experience as a Product Manager
• Five or more years of management experience
Preferred Skills/Experience
• Expert knowledge of the assigned business line and technical marketing skills
• Strong product management, design and development skills
• Considerable knowledge of product/program development, pricing, implementation and strategic analysis
• Demonstrated marketing and marketing research skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong financial and competitive analysis and computer skills
• Demonstrated management, leadership and interpersonal skills
