About the opportunity
Purpose of your role
The role is for a Business Analyst within the Front Office Reporting & Analytics team, with responsibility for contributing to the expansion of reporting and analytics capabilities to all investment management business areas globally. It requires a skill set that encompasses the full spectrum of business analyst activities through the project life cycle but with a particular attention on data workflow, change management and information delivery. The role is both client and technology facing. A key part of the delivery team is based in India. This role will require excellent relationship management and communication skills to ensure a superior service to our partners is maintained.
The position will be based at the Fidelity Cannon Street office in the City of London. As the business users are located in multiple locations, including Asia, some limited overseas travel may be expected (one to two week segments).
Your key accountabilities
The successful candidate will be one who can understand complex business and data issues and has a good knowledge of asset management data and processes. They will be expected to engage with all levels of the investment management community, through requirements analysis, development and implementation.
Responsibilities include
• Planning and organising business analysis tasks on projects and programmes throughout the project lifecycle to agreed timescales
• Capture & clarification of business requirements, in particular data and reporting requirements, through a range of analysis techniques
• Supporting data recipients in their use and understanding of the data available through the data service layer
• Acting as a proxy customer with the development teams, facilitating open communication between the customer & development team
• Driving & reviewing test scripts for both system integration and user acceptance. Driving user acceptance criteria with the customer
• Interact & work with third party partners and suppliers as required
Essential Skills and Experience
• 5+ years business analysis experience within an Asset Management environment with a track record of successful implementations & strong business relationships
• Strong experience in business process re-engineering, change management, analysis, user requirement gathering, gap analysis & business case development
• Excellent understanding of asset management data and data workflows
• Experience in the use of Business Intelligence tools for information delivery in a front office facing role
• Experience of visualising complex data to aid analysis or report building
• Excellent inter-personal, communication, documentation, facilitation & presentation skills
Desirable Skills and Experience
• Experience working one or more projects implementing a reporting / analytics platform
• Experience working with one or more BI tools (OBIEE, QlikView, Tableau)
• Knowledge in one or more of the following areas: fund of funds, fixed income, risk, equities/derivatives
• 3rd Party asset management vendor application experience
