Controller – NonProfit (Outsourcing) - Minneapolis
Continued growth in our Business Operations Outsourcing practice is requiring that we add to our Nonprofit Accounting Team. CLA is the premier provider of part-time and interim accounting and financial management professionals servicing both for profit and nonprofit organizations. Currently, CLA is seeking consultants at the Controller level to help with our nonprofit clients' needs. If you are a hands-on individual who is familiar with the budget and monthly closing process, is able to manage relationships with nonprofit boards, as well as, outside CPA firms; and are willing and capable to travel to client sites to manage financial functions, we would welcome your application.
Other responsibilities may include:
1. Managing the complete accounting process, including journal entries, month end close, general ledger, bank and balance sheet account reconciliations, and payroll
2. Nonprofit financial reporting and compliance including A-133 and Form 990
3. Solid nonprofit accounting and grants management for unrestricted and restricted funds
4. Budget forecasting
5. Financial operations review
6. Complex net asset releases for temporarily restricted funds
7. Financial statement preparation
Requirements
Required Experience & Education:
1. At least 10 years of accounting experience, including staff management
2. Previous Controller or Accounting Manager experience with a nonprofit organization
3. BS/BA in Accounting/Finance.
4. Prior Consulting experience desired
5. Proficiency and aptitude for applicable software (Microsoft Excel, Accounting Software, Word, Outlook etc.).
