Position Description
The Deposit Operations Money Movement Director is responsible for the strategic direction and compliance adherence for all components of the functions, including the achievement of corporate goals of compliance, growth of deposits, and quality of service. The scope of this position includes the management of the personnel within the department as well as interfacing with the various departments, business partners, and bank customers relative to Money Movement
Job Responsibilities
• Develop and lead the implementation of strategic plans of the Money Movement Team for the growth of the department and the bank.
• Responsible for the HR activities associated with the team in regards to providing the appropriate staffing levels including the right staff and weekend coverage. This includes and maintaining strong bench strength of associates.
• Ensure all technical and compliance aspects of the department and team functions are completed timely, accurately and efficiently
• Maintain a strong knowledge of regulatory, legislative, and technical aspects of ACH, Wire Transfers, FED Adjustments/Returns, Exception Processing and Remote Deposit Processing along with Ally Bank policies.
• Establish both annual and long-term performance and strategic goals and objectives for the department to ensure that the goals of the corporation are met and that the results of the department support the growth of Ally Bank.
• Ensure that all transactions and customer communications are processed in accordance with Ally Bank Procedures and External Regulations.
• Partner with Compliance, Legal, and Audit to ensure all procedures and process adhere to the regulatory guidelines, industry trends, and identified risks.
• Responsible for all tracking, forecasting, and reporting department metrics to senior and executive management regarding department health and quality.
• Partner with the various Ally business units and vendors responsible for delivering to its customers a product that meets our brand promise.
• Evaluate processes that can be stream-lined, enhanced, automated, or in or outsourced to Deposit Operations.
• Operate the department within budgetary guidelines to ensure a positive impact to the bottom line.
• Ensure accuracy, maintenance and completion of file documentation for regulatory compliance.
• Monitors, maintains and enhances the activities of the team and staff within the Department.
• Responds to customer and partner issues in a highly professional and effective manner.
• Develop all internal policies, procedures, and customer communications in accordance with established policies.
• Recommends enhancements to support Corporate and Division objectives.
• Interact with Customer Call Center and Ally Bank customers as needed.
Qualifications
• Type of prior related experience:
• Special skills/abilities/competencies required:
• A Bachelor Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A minimum of 10 years of banking experience
• Comprehensive knowledge and experience of NACHA rules and Regulation CC
• Management experience and the demonstrated capability for leading and motivating staff
• Comprehensive and current knowledge of banking concepts (including the legislative and regulatory environments).
• Comprehensive knowledge of ACH processing, risk management, and fraud prevention strategies.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Ally Bank's products, services and policies and procedures.
• Comprehensive knowledge and experience with setting and managing service standards.
• Strong working knowledge of mainframe and computer systems used to access customer information and produce specialized reports and analyses.
• Strong managerial, leadership, strategic planning and decision-making skills.
• Ability to create an environment which motivates a diverse group of staff members
• Flexibility and interpersonal astuteness to respond to a wide variety of customers' needs and personalities

Business Unit/Enterprise Function
Deposit Operations services the Deposits organization of Ally Bank. The team consists of over 200 associates across two locations (Ft Washington, PA and Lewisville, TX). The primary focus of the team is to support customers and our contact center teammates with a variety of activities geared around account maintenance, money movement, loss mitigation, complaint handling and projects. The department is divided into 8 teams and each team has associates that provide subject matter expertise specific to their area. Adherence to high quality output is critical along with; timelines, productivity, regulatory adherence and ensuring our culture is forefront in all that we do every day.
