Job Summary:
Under general supervision, ensure that preparation functions on remitted customer transactions are processed according to defined instructions.
Major Responsibilities:
• Receive incoming first class registered type mail; inspect transactions and contents to determine if acceptable for processing by adhering to customer instructions.
• Receive incoming registered and certified mail; inspect transactions and contents to determine if acceptable for processing.
• Remove contents of assigned customer mail received; ensure that items to be processed have proper payee, signature and are not post- or stale-dated; separate acceptable/processable items into two groups of items, checks and invoices.
• Perform accurate, timely processing of all incoming items (Bank by Mail, Mastercard payments, ICL payments, Lockbox, etc.).
• Prepare items for proof or appropriate disposition.
• Process "cash" transactions in conjunction with work director or supervisor, verifying that cash transaction is acceptable for processing/depositing.
• Batch checks for system input.
• Attach appropriate invoice and copies and prepare completed package for mailing to customer.
• Include unprocessable items.
• Perform research, respond to inquiries, and maintain records associated with the item processing.
Qualifications
Additional Information:
Typically requires a high school diploma or G.E.D. Position requires 10-key by touch, organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet strict time constraints.
