Reporting to the business line head, the Debit Card Product Manager oversees and manages the consumer and small business debit card product line for the organization and is responsible for the development of related new product enhancements. Leads the formation and execution of the product strategy and has cross-functional responsibility for the Debit Card business. Serves and represents the company with external debit card network partners to establish and achieve marketing and financial plans as well as monitor and address customer service performance.
Major Responsibilities:
• Responsible for setting the overall direction of the debit card business including the product strategy, analysis of competitive and market forces, assessment of the regulatory environment, pricing, and operational effectiveness of the debit card business and socialization of the strategy across the bank
• Drive marketing and stimulation campaigns in partnership with debit card network vendors, deposit, and sales support teams
• Work closely with Regional Bank management including consumer banking and operations leadership, as well as fraud, compliance, legal and other product areas within the organization
• Lead the development and execution of strategic product and program plans in support of business strategy, and deliver towards key metrics
• Manage and leverage a cross-functional team in an ongoing process of critical assessment and continual improvement of product features and functionality, policies and procedures, risk management programs, fraud mitigation, customer communications, as well as internal training related to these programs
• Advise management of potential new product capabilities through preparation of strategy presentations or papers which define markets, product design, profitability, marketing costs, alternative systems, operating expenditures and capitalization
• Work closely with Retail Deposit Portfolio Management in planning, forecasting, measuring and tracking financial performance
• Understand industry players, broader competitive environment, and new and existing products and service solutions offered to the industry
• Oversee development of, maintenance of, and updates of competitive analysis data as it relates to product, pricing and sales strategies
Qualifications
• Typically requires a 4 year college degree (or comparable experience)
• 6-10 years of product management experience with P&L responsibility, with commensurate experience to manage a support team of 1 FTE business analyst level
