Brown Brothers Harriman is currently recruiting a Risk Analyst to join our Private Banking team. In this role you will be responsible for the execution of risk and control best practices for the Private Banking Business. You will collaborate with members of the Investment Process and Implementation teams, Trading Execution, Relationship Management professionals, Front Office Administration, ERM, Compliance, OGC and Internal Audit to ensure that a proper control environment exists for investment process, and product and implementation activities. The Risk Analyst is responsible for management reporting and risk identification to ensure that risk related issues are properly addressed, and has primary responsibility of Charles River on all PB accounts.
Some of your key responsibilities include:
• Support PB risk management objectives and goals
• Work with Relationship Management teams to ensure client accounts adhere to current business and regulatory standards
• Collaborate with IRG, PBS and FOA to ensure that processes pertaining to investing client assets are well controlled
• Ensure that the risk profile for investment implementation and trading activities are consistent with BBH risk parameters and standards
• Implement control processes to ensure that client accounts’ portfolios are migrated as appropriate to the model portfolio, while being mindful of client restrictions and taxes
• Review, and approve as appropriate Private Client transactions outside the scope of centralized trading for Transactional Risk
• Participate in special projects, as requested.
• Create & Maintain all CRD rules for PB Accounts
• Ensure the front office is adding compliance rules in accordance to the client’s IPS.
• Implement monitoring program to ensure that trading for all centralized accounts are properly executed, and that issues are resolved
• Document risk procedures
• Identify patterns and trends to solve risk related problems.
• Analyze business processes, identify risks, assess risk levels and identify mitigating controls.
• Prepare presentations for senior management.
• Assemble risk based reports for senior management.
• Follow up on issues with senior management to improve the control environment.
• Support and participate in regulatory and compliance training, as required.
• Support and participate in internal and external audits, as required.
Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
• 5-10 years of relevant work experience. Experience with Charles River required
• Understanding of risk management policies and methodologies
• Ability to analyze business processes to identify risks, assess risk levels and identify mitigating controls
• Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify patterns and trends
• Knowledge of investment and trading processes, policies and systems
• Strong relationship management skills
• Ability to effectively interact with all levels of management
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, Word and Powerpoint
