Summary
Individual contributor role that is responsible for providing expertise in support of conceptualizing, launching and execution of marketing plans and tactics that align with the goal of building a new fraternal benefit society serving US Latino Christians. The pilot offering, Buen Camino, will initially start in San Antonio, TX, and extend beyond as the offering is refined. This role will support the Marketing Director of Buen Camino in designing the marketing plan, designing and refining the awareness and engagement approach, assisting with the creation of materials designed for consumer-facing Community Guides, launching a physical presence, ensuring a valued offering of financial education (aligned with Thrivent’s Wise with Money journey) as well as safeguarding your family products/services, and tracking key metrics. The Marketing Specialist is responsible for some level of strategic development, helps drive key business decisions, makes recommendations to continuously improve marketing results, as well as execution of tactics. This position provides leadership to medium sized work streams or participates as a team member on larger or more complex work streams, projects and initiatives that engage cross-organizational team members.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Uses vertical marketing expertise/experience to contribute to the execution of marketing plans that support the Buen Camino and organizational brands.
◦ Defines operational needs and assists with the creation of project plans for new initiatives.
◦ Designs processes required to test and refine new ideas.
◦ Assists with change management efforts and associated communications.
• Leverages market data and analytics to monitor success of marketing programs/initiatives and to continuously improve upon marketing results. Gathers consumer and stakeholder feedback to ensure alignment and to optimize effectiveness. Continues to build marketing intelligence through external and internal data sources.
• Leverages experience to drive development that aligns with key corporate strategies and initiatives.
• Responsible for delivering on tactics that support positioning of brand to select market segments through multiple communication channels.
• Develop trusted relationships with key internal/external stakeholders to collaborate and contribute to branding and distribution that attracts target segment, drives membership growth and increases member loyalty.
Qualifications:
• 3-5 years marketing or related experience.
• College degree in marketing or related field; advanced degree a plus but not required. Experience in a specialized area of marketing (direct marketing, e-marketing, communications, analytics, brand positioning, social networking media, etc.) and/or project/program management. Experience in ConsumerX / UserX research a plus.
• Knowledge of financial services industry, fraternal benefit societies, or membership organizations a plus.
• Experience with CRM systems (i.e. Salesforce and/or Watson) a plus.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Demonstrates strong project management and collaboration skills.
• Success in completing multiple projects at one time.
• Ability to work independently and effectively to manage multiple projects simultaneously in the face of ambiguity, shifting priorities, and rapid change.
• Applies a development mindset that uses creativity and marketing expertise to develop new, more effective and more efficient marketing approaches.
• Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with others across the division.
Other Critical Factors:
• Passionate about serving the Latino market.
• Proficiency in Spanish language a plus but not required.
