Description
A dedicated resource that is responsible for acquiring new High value customers and deepening
relationships with existing customers. New customers are sourced through prospecting, referrals from centers-of-influence as well as successfully leveraging internal and external partnerships. Responsible for growing the profitability, relationship depth and retention of a small portfolio of existing customers through telephone outreach and in-person appointments. Determines and sells appropriate product and service solutions to meet all banking, borrowing, and investment needs of High Value prospects and customers by exploring needs, as well as providing outstanding customer service. The Select Banker is based out of a branch, and will spend the majority of their time meeting with High Value prospects and existing customers in the branch or at their place of business. Reports to Branch Manager.
Responsibilities
• Conducts customer appointments and engages in customer conversations following a prescribed sales process designed to effectively uncover customer needs and provide relevant customer solutions
• Reviews customer needs to proactively recommend and sell products or services to the customer and responds to all customer service
• Cross-sells all of Santander’s products & services including Deposit, Credit, Investment and Insurance products through outreach and appointment banking
• The Select Banker is the only role in the Network trained and empowered to sell the high value customer value proposition, Santander Select
• Develops and maintains relationships with business partners to increase cross-sell opportunities and achieve sales goals
• Actively engages in outbound calling from a lead list
• Leverages other lead sources to supplement weekly outreach efforts
• Actively engages in customer outreach efforts focused on acquiring new High Value customers
• Outreach efforts will include but not limited to lead lists, internal and external referrals, prospecting, and referrals from centers-of-influence
• Manages a portfolio of no more than 150 High Value customers with responsibility to deepen, retain, and improve the profitability of these relationships
Qualifications
• At least 1 to 3 Years of experience in banking/financial services
• Minimum 2 years sales and portfolio/relationship management experience
• Series 6, 63, and Life and Health
• Ability to build and execute successful sales plans
• Demonstrated knowledge of products and services for core banking
• Excellent sales, prospecting, customer service and portfolio management skills
• Excellent verbal communication and influence skills
• Experience conducting consultative conversations in person and on the phone with proven close rates through a needs-based sales approach
• Exudes a credible, trustworthy, and professional image at all times
• Has a proven track record of acquiring and retaining Mass Affluent customer relationships by providing relevant solutions to meet customer needs
• Strong financial and business acumen
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• In compliance with the requirements outlined within the Compensation Requirements under the Truth-in-Lending Act (LO Comp Rule) effective January 1st 2014; Santander Bank will now perform a credit check as part of, and in addition to, the existing background check for all positions where one must perform job functions of a loan originator as defined by the LO Comp Rule
