JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Managed Care Cost Analysis & Pricing collects, analyzes, and models statistical, financial, and competitive information to help make pricing decisions. Working with our Sales Team, Client Services and Business Leadership, he/she identifies and solves product/pricing problems by performing analyses that involve retrieving and analyzing both internal and external data. This position offers a qualified candidate the opportunity to work cross functionally with the Commercial Business Units, Sales, and Finance teams to develop pricing models, help drive pricing strategy, and ensure successful and accurate margin and revenue forecasting within York’s Managed Care practice.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develops cost, frequency, and pricing models for York’s Managed Care products
• Performs expense and profitability analysis on existing and prospective business and recommends pricing actions based on findings
• Works with Business Leaders to create forward thinking pricing strategies for new and existing products
• Monitors cost fluctuations
• Evaluates price relationships between products
• Assists in analyzing financial results, product or contract profitability and forecasting
• Communicates and collaborates with business partners in other functional areas, including marketing, finance, claims, IT, and senior management
• Supports sales and branch staff in pricing related matters/questions
• Develops, owns, and manages all aspects of pricing, working closely with the operations, sales and finance teams
• Establishes best in class cost analysis models to address pricing, strategy, and reporting; interfaces closely with sales and operations to develop optimal pricing models

QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
• BS / BA / MBA or Equivalent Work Experience
EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum 3 to 5 years in the Managed Care industry in a pricing or cost analysis role, preferably at a York competitor
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
• Solid organizational, communication and multi-tasking skills a must
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary to present information to management and other functional areas
• Good collaboration and leadership skills
• Comfortable problem solving with ambiguity
• Must have excellent attention to data quality, strong analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Organized, accurate, and dedicated
• Highly analytical and quantitative, strong statistical skills, and sound business judgment
• Quantitative, analytical focus to drive sales performance through development and review of pricing opportunity and analytics
• Must be able to independently set priorities of tasks amongst multiple assigned projects
KNOWLEDGE:
• Advanced abilities in Microsoft Excel. Experience with Google Sheets is a plus. Highly proficient in managing and manipulating data in Excel with pivot tables
• Solid understanding of data and analysis
• Knowledge of Managed Care processes in order to relate the work to expense, i.e., work effort = expense
• Must have strong math aptitude and a desire to increase profitability through well researched pricing strategies
