The Role
This position will consult/analyze and deliver on more complex assignments/projects for his/her assigned area(s) of Treasury responsibility. S/he will also act as a resource to applicable internal/external stakeholders. S/he will provide consultative services, cash/treasury management products, and solutions through strong relationships with commercial banks and internal customers in business areas across the enterprise. S/he will identify, negotiate, secure and manage treasury services from external providers. This role will also resolve more complex problems and issues.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Assists in maintaining effective relationships with commercial banks, other treasury service providers, and internal customers.
• Acts as liaison between Treasury Services and internal/external business partners.
• Assists with promoting Treasury Services and systems to internal customers by providing consultative advice on process improvements and cost savings.
• Reviews and assesses client operations involving treasury services pertaining to Reinsurance, Investment and Alternative Asset Accounting, Separate Account and Registered Funds, and Cash and Liquidity Management.
• Collaborates with internal/external business partners to evaluate processes, systems and applications.
• Provides treasury and banking information to LFG finance and investment teams in order to support the development of industry leading products/processes.
• Participates in and may lead meetings with internal customers to offer improvement and assist in providing proactive, innovative, customer-focused guidance and availability of leading edge treasury management products and solutions at competitive prices.
• Works with Senior Treasury Consultants and Director to meet simultaneous needs of different internal clients and manage more complex issues and conflicts with clients and vendors.
• Recommends bank services and changes to banking applications; assists in review of agreements/contracts and pricing/service fees.
• Participates in requests-for-proposal involving Treasury related services.
• Recommends bank account structure and flow of funds for the effective management of cash; assists authorized signers to open bank accounts, lower funding costs, improve cash flow, and increase operational efficiency.
• Participates in development, planning, and delivery of educational seminars/workshops related to treasury services and products for Treasury staff, internal customers, and external banking partners.
• Assists in resolving more complex problems and issues and makes recommendations to yield more effective operations. Participates and assists in implementation of multiple projects.
• Assists in ensuring treasury compliance with established regulatory processes and guidelines for treasury services as new products are utilized.
• Participates in development of policies, procedures, and operational controls and standards for new and existing treasury services.
• Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility; assesses the impact, and collaborates with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.
• Champions and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility.
• Serves as a resource to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on more complex assignments/projects for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
• Identifies and recommends process improvements that significantly reduce workloads or improve quality for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
• Consults/Analyze on more complex assignments and/or projects for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
• Performs more complex treasury activities for his/her area(s) of responsibility to support cash and liquidity management and/or statutory requirements.
• Serves as resource to team members and internal stakeholders in business areas across the enterprise regarding treasury practices and services.
• Prepares ad hoc reports, analysis, and research as needed.
• Carries out duties in compliance with all state and federal regulations and guidelines. Complies with all company and site policies and procedures.
• Remains current in profession and industry trends.
• Makes a positive contribution as demonstrated by making suggestions for improvement and learning new skills, procedures and processes
• Performs other duties as required.
Education and Experience
• 4 Year/Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelors) (Minimum Required)
• 3 - 5+ Years of experience in Treasury and/or Finance that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position (Required)
• CPA is desirable
• Basic understanding of accounting concepts, including differences/nuances of STAT vs. GAAP and how those apply to investments, reinsurance, etc.
• Basic to intermediate understanding of the operations and terminology pertaining to Investments and Alternative Assets, Reinsurance, Separate Accounts and Registered Funds, and Cash and Liquidity management.
• Ability to perform under stress in cases of emergency, critical or hazardous situations.
• Ability to work with others in a team environment.
• Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. management, peers and colleagues); proven ability to develop collaborative approaches.
• Demonstrates ability to identify and recommend processes improvements.
• Demonstrates excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task while maintaining strict attention to detail.
• Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative style.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

• Successfully completes regulatory and job training requirements.
