Description
The Associate Disability Claims Examiner position requires the knowledge and understanding of LTD policies and procedures to appropriately calculate the LTD benefits due and manage the duration of a disability absence. Primary duties include calculation of Long Term Disability (LTD) benefits according to Plan Provisions. In this role you will also be expected to:
• Follow through timely on plans
• Utilize judgment and assess risk when rendering claim decisions
• Document all claim information including phone calls and correspondence
• Utilize effective communication to obtain information both verbally and in writing, and provide information to the claimant and employer
• Possess the ability to apply plan provisions
• Manage the needs of the clients
• May coach new associates
• Perform other duties as assigned
This position will be located in Portland, ME, Scottsdale, AZ or Roseland, NJ
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree is a plus
• Prior claim experience preferred
• Strong written and verbal communications and time management skills required
• Proficiency in PC-based programs such as Word and Excel
• Strong mathematical skills desired
• Detail oriented
