POSITION SUMMARY
Serve as customer service single point of contact (SPOC) with borrower from T&I/Occupancy default through final resolution of default. Assist borrower with available options up to and including Repayment Plans, Deed in Lieu and Short Sales where appropriate. As applicable to the position, oversee HUD default and foreclosure timelines. Ensure that all processes include appropriate controls necessary to ensure the Loan Servicing Department (including Tax & Insurance) is maintained in accordance with policies, procedures, and applicable federal and state regulations.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Responsibility for the collection and servicing of reverse mortgages with Spanish Speaking Borrowers.
• Manage assigned loans and workflow according to department procedure and assigned responsibility.
• Request direction in solving problems of unusual or complicated nature.
• Assure quality service in the administration of reverse mortgage loans under defined duties.
• Maintain customer contact from T&I default through the foreclosure process.
• Maintain customer contact from Occupancy default through the foreclosure process.
• Facilitate the communication and coordination of Deed in Lieu or Short Sale if requested.
• Ensure all work performed meets legal, compliance and risk requirements.
• Performs other duties/special projects as assigned.
SELECTION CRITERIA
• High school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish reading, writing and verbal.
• 2+ years’ experience in the mortgage industry two to five years related experience and/or training
• Stable job history.
• Good written and oral communication.
• Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read and write in English to effectively communicate in writing as well as verbally in person and over the phone.
• Ability to effectively communicate in English with customers or members of the business community.
• Ability to effectively present information to Management, etc.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as legal documents, policies and procedures.
• Ability to calculate basic financial figures and amounts.
• Proficient in computer skills and knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, accounting, general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, e-mail and internet software.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
In addition to the Company’s standard background check, this position also requires the successful completion of a background check conducted by the FDIC to include criminal background check, credit check and fingerprinting.
