Overview
The Project Portfolio Manager is a critical role that will increase our ability to prioritize and execute on the strategic goals of Fisher Investments by balancing workload against resource availability. Duties include tracking project prioritization and assignment, reporting on cross-departmental product and project deliverables, and tracking resource allocations and capacity.
Responsibilities:
• Point person to map schedules for product enhancement and project deliverables that require technology.
• Ability to work with Project and Product Managers to document and track delivery dates and provide a global view of all technology initiatives and corresponding resource needs.
• Work closely with IT and project leaders to plan short and long term releases. Accountable for communicating dependencies and collisions within the technology product and project delivery space.
• Proactively identify resource constraints and creative solutions to solve these constraints.
• Selection and administration of PPM or other tools to enhance:
◦ End-to-end visibility and control of all projects, resources, and related costs
◦ Project Portfolio views by business unit, project group, or firm-wide
◦ The ability to visualize impacts to all projects in the pipeline as business needs change
◦ Track metrics, including: ROI, project health, risks, issues, collisions, and dependencies via executive dashboards
◦ IT’s ability to drive business value and increase business agility
◦ Our ability to deliver on key initiatives through accurate planning and forecasting (at both a project and resource level), prioritization, faster project execution, and optimized resource utilization
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of project management experience required; or equivalent combination of education/experience
• Demonstrated experience leading collaborative project teams on technical projects of varying size and complexity
• Experience managing portfolios and/or release schedules
• Experience with project management, product management (preferably Jira) and PPM tools
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with management , project team members, internal clients, and consultants
• Knowledge of waterfall and agile methodologies and tools, and experience managing projects in both
• Ability to identify and provide solutions for improving current practices
• Willingness to drive Project Portfolio Management throughout the company
• Must be self-motivated.
