Overview
Position
As a Total Loss Representative for Acceptance Insurance, you will provide claims service to customers regarding vehicular total losses. Documents the loss, addresses immediate questions regarding the claims process and reviews, analyzes and communicates the vehicle settlement value. Applies knowledge of auto policy coverages to initiate and/or conclude claims as appropriate.

We are principally a retailer, servicer and underwriter of non-standard personal automobile insurance based in Nashville, Tennessee. Our insurance operations actively generate revenues from selling non-standard personal automobile insurance policies and related products in 16 states. We currently conduct our servicing and underwriting operations in 13 states and are licensed as an insurer in 13 additional states.
At March 31, 2017, we leased and operated 355 retail locations and a call center staffed with employee-agents. Our employee agents primarily sell non-standard personal automobile insurance products underwritten by us, as well as certain commissionable ancillary products. In most states, our employee-agents also sell a complementary insurance product providing personal property and liability coverage for renters underwritten by us. In addition, retail locations in some markets offer non-standard personal automobile insurance serviced and underwritten by other third-party insurance carriers for which we receive a commission. In addition to our retail locations, we are able to complete the entire sales process over the phone via our call center or through the internet via our consumer-based website or mobile platform. On a limited basis, we also sell our products through selected retail locations operated by independent agents.

Responsibilities
• Evaluates and negotiates settlement of automobile first and third party physical damage claims within established settlement authority limits and negotiates any excessive storage charges.
• Explains procedures and answers inquiries for adjusting auto total loss claims.
• Analyzes information obtained to establish compliance for regulatory requirements and settlement value.
• Properly manage Total Loss settlement process and rental expenses by working closely with appraisers, rental facilities, body shops, and salvage vendors. Includes managing deductibles and policy limits.
• Provides coordination with internal functions to include appraisal operations, SIU, Subrogation and Salvage.
• Meet all quality standards and expectations per company best practices and comply with state specific regulations.
• Acquisition and maintenance of insurance adjuster’s license within designated number of attempts.
Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2 years of customer service/sales experience; or completion of military service; or 1 year customer service/sales experience plus 30 hours of college credit; or 1+ years experience multi-tasking in a Windows operating system environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organization and effective time management skills
• Excellent negotiation skills and ability to effectively handle conflict
• Successful completion of a job-related assessment may be required.
• This position will require an Insurance Adjuster's license. You must pass a licensing exam within a designated number of attempts and have the ability to become licensed in all applicable states.
Preferred:
• Bachelors Degree.
• Prior dispute resolution experience and training.
• Auto claims adjusting experience.
• Insurance Adjuster’s License.
• Ability to work flexible hours.
