Zions Bancorporation seeks a detail-oriented Business Analyst who can gather important business data and translate it into digestible information that they are able to implement within a business system to ultimately improve the business process through automation. We need someone who can come up-to-speed on the systems side very quickly to develop subject matter expertise for an accounting reconciliation system. This position will reside within the Enterprise Accounting organization located in Salt Lake City, Utah or Houston, Texas.
The ideal candidate for this position will have skills and experience necessary to work closely with all level of the organizations. They will take charge of all projects assigned and deliver results. The Business Analyst will have systems experience in accounting / finance to perform requirements gathering, design documentation, process analysis and solution implementation, SME responsibilities, QA and PM functions.
Responsibilities:
• Engage with numerous different groups to analyze and convert complex manual processes to standardized system automated solutions
• Gathers, reviews, analyzes, validates, evaluates and maps business systems processes and user needs
• Formulates proposals for new processes within business system, develops procedures and/ or processes and implements
• Creates and executes test scripts to ensure requirements are fulfilled
• Develop, document and train others on processes and procedures
• Thinks at varying levels, from high concept to low detail
• Participates as a member of a project team to understand and negotiate needs and expectations of multiple stakeholders
• Manages multiple small projects simultaneously to completion according to timelines
• Assists in developing user documentation and departmental policies and procedures that impact the use of application systems
• Communicates- writing, speaking, and presentation- concepts and constraints completely
• Demonstrates creative "out of the box" thinking
• Champions ideas and sells them to others
• Grasps business-centric design principles
• Works closely with functional streams to ensure all requirements are collected and fulfilled
• Handle other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• Requires a Bachelors’ degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Information Systems or another related field
• Requires 4+ years’ experience in business process analysis, systems analysis and support in accounting/finance or other directly related experience preferably in banking or finance industry
• Must be able to undertake self-directed learning to understand processes and systems and respond quickly, execute innovative solutions to problems and be proactive in solving customer issues
• Knowledge of account reconciliation principles
• Knowledge of Frontier (Account Reconciliation System) and Crystal Reports is a plus
• Working knowledge of business systems, programming and systems analysis procedures, SDLC life cycle, project techniques and practices.
• Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task handling a number of different projects and issues at the same time
• Analytical, organizational and problem solving skills required
• Ability to function in a consultative role and manage small projects
• Must be able to prioritize schedule based on deliverables, goals and timelines to meet commitments on time
• Extensive knowledge of various software programs, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook email system, etc.
• Very good functional knowledge of the streams they work on
• Balance of critical and solutions-focused thinking – takes strategic approach to problem solving
• Ability to understand the business flow and co-relate to system design
• Requires strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with both management and staff employees exercise good judgement in choosing appropriate communication channels
• Ability to work in fast paced environment
• A combination of education and experience may meet requirements.
