Job Description Summary
The BPM Solutions Manager is a very senior BPM professional with at least 8 years of real experience in progressively increasing complexity BPM projects. This position is focused on the management of our department-level business workflows and document processing technology. This will require a deep understanding of current BPM, integration, document, and database practices and technologies. The commercial banking group (CBG) BPM team is highly visible and valued as their applications are responsible for the initiation of key business-critical processes.
Job Responsibilities
• Ensure the development teams are practicing the core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility
• Maintain organization's effectiveness and efficiency by providing the leadership and vision aligned to organizational goals
• Complete projects leading by example, coordinating resources and timetables with other group’s development managers, and resolving any team impediments
• Communicate with staff about job expectations by providing coaching, mentoring, counseling, and performance appraisals
• Facilitate discussion and conflict resolution while empowering teams to self-organize building strong, lasting relationships centered on trust
• Build and maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; maintaining a safe and secure work environment; developing personal growth opportunities.
• Validate the delivery of end to end quality software solutions by creating and actively reviewing team KPIs for QA, delivery, fit, operational metrics, and stakeholder/peer feedback
• May lead front-door architecture design
• Collaborates with Enterprise Architecture on determining if Appian is an appropriate platform for the business request along with ensuring adoption of bank platform best practices
• Provides high-level sizing and staff estimation.• Provides analysis for the use of shared components in a proposed application or enhancement
• Architect, Design and implement BPM-based solutions using Appian BPM software
• Plan, design, and implement complex enterprise integrations with industry standard technologies
• Very knowledgeable in Appian Administration and Appian engine support. Manages the Appian platform development and support team
• Lead BPM teams with internal, partner, and client resources on project related tasks, ensuring delivery dates are met
• Provide technical mentorship and guidance to the team members.
Required Experience
Qualifications
• 8+ years software engineering and BPM experience combined with B.S. Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or IT related field. 6 additional years professional experience may be substituted in lieu of a B.S.
• 5+ years leading software engineering teams of 4+ members
• 5+ years of Programming experience in a combination of the following: Java (J2EE, JNDI, JDBC, JMS) or C# .NET, XML, JavaScript, SOAP & REST web-services
• 5+ years of enterprise integration technology experience with a focus on SOA / ESB / API gateways, pub/sub queues, and real-time multi-tier messaging architectures
• 4+ years in Appian BPM with strong configuration management is a strong advantage
• 4+ years Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen, or other process engineering methodology experience
• 4+ years of proven Agile experience using Agile management tools such as JIRA
• 4+ years relational database experience (functional understanding of database structure, design principals and query tuning, data management)
• Experience operating in and setting up the necessary tools and process to create a DevOps environment and culture
• Experience in Waterfall software development methodology is a nice to have
• Self-motivated with experience performing in all phases of the development lifecycle (analysis, design, development, quality assurance, and support)
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a team-focused attitude
• Excels at driving requirements sessions
• Able to go beyond the first level of BPM implementation to drive process improvement efforts
• Understands ROI and is able to work with stakeholders to define the best metrics to use, then work with the implementation team to build-in views for said metrics
