Job Description:
Under the guidance of the Finance Controller, this role will include functions related primarily to but not limited to financial and management reporting, project accounting, budgets, forecasts, special projects and maintaining database files. While this role will initially focus on the Technology and Consulting Business Group, it is intended this focus will expand into other businesses within GCS. The role includes direct interaction with GCS management, accounting, operations and sales.
Essential Job Duties:
• Directly oversee accounting personnel and all related functions including the hiring, training and evaluation of those under his/her direct supervision.
• Assure generation of financial statements in a timely and accurate manner – in accordance with the relevant accounting policies and procedures.
• Review each financial statement and approval for closing the accounting period for each entity.
• Assure the accounting personnel maintain proper internal control procedures.
• Oversee banking processes to meet client requirements, and in compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Coordinate, in relation to accounting/finance, the set-up of new companies.
• Communicate, as needed, with other departments to coordinate necessary work and achieve objectives.
• Assist with the annual operating budget and monthly forecasting processes.
• Assist with the development of and participation in the action plan to bring increased structure to accounting processes including maintaining accrual schedules, providing direction on the coding of expenses, and reviewing expenses.
• Assist the Controller and CFO with the monthly review of the P&L.
• Maintain Sales Commission Calculation schedules for the Sales team as well as quarterly bonus calculations for billable staff as needed.
Skills, Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business with an emphasis in Accounting
• CPA required
• Minimum of 6 years previous experience in corporate accounting with a minimum of 3-5 years previous accounting management/supervision experience required
• Previous experience in commercial real estate or professional management preferred
• Advanced excel modeling experience required
• Experience with Oracle preferred
• International accounting experience preferred
• Project accounting experience required
• Must be a self-starter who can determine what needs to be done rather than wait for direction
