At Grant Thornton, our professional staff applies traditional, cutting-edge approaches and methods to a variety of analyses. As part of our team, the Senior Associate will utilize various methodologies and models to execute client projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• The Senior Associates assigned to Grants Management will be responsible for Sub recipient support and monitoring for compliance with federal grant conditions and requirements, reviewing cost documentation for eligibility determination, and assisting the Client with project coordination.
• Working with Applicants / Subgrantees to establish individual project accounts within the grants management system and the Grants Portal.
• Overseeing the work of assigned Associates and monitoring their work with the Applicants / Subgrantees.
• Reviewing and FEMA Public Assistance (PA) Project Worksheets (PW) for consistency between the Description of Damages and Scope of Work.
• Reviewing and Approving FEMA PA PWs for consistency of Project Costs, Scope of Work and supporting Documentation.
• Working with client project staff as necessary to Identify corrections needed for missing support and cost documentation for the PW.
• Reviewing, Recommending and Approving Subgrantee Request for Reimbursement (RFR) confirming accuracy of supporting documentation based on costs incurred and claimed, along with the required processing within the FloridaPA.org system.
• Meeting with Applicants (Subgrantee) to support their work and assist with the interface with Grants Portal.
• Reviewing and Approving the PW Closeout.
• Working as a team to support our contract with the client.
• Maintaining daily work logs and records of monthly activities and contacts with Applicants / Subgrantees.
• Entering daily time into Deltek time requirements.
• Meet or exceed targeted billing hours (utilization).
• Assist with business development activities, such as proposals, capture, account teams, whitepapers, conferences, and/or other thought leadership materials.
Qualifications
• Strong understanding of FEMA Public Assistance program and grant management requirements under 2 CFR.
• Skills should include prior experience working with the FEMA Public Assistance Program.
• Interpersonal skill and clear communication (written and oral) when working with the Applicant / Subgrantee.
• Bachelor’s Degree required from an accredited college or university in a related field.
• Ability to obtain and maintain certain job-related certifications if no job-related advanced degrees.
• U.S. citizenship may be required. Ability to work in the United States indefinitely required.
• Travel may be required.
• Ability to work overtime required on occasion.
• Ability to sit in an office environment for long periods of time.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
• Ability to obtain and maintain firm independence and abide by firm ethics requirements.
• Meet or exceed continuing professional education (CPE) requirements.
