TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Department Summary:
The TCF Middle Office (TCF/MO) Department provides collateral risk and credit risk monitoring services to the trade commodity finance (GLFI/NAT) Americas client base. The Analyst collaborate with FO, provides input on structure at pre closing and manages the files from the closing initiated by the commercial teams and ensures a close and proactive risk follow-up linked to the transaction during the life of the deal. When SG is Agent on deals, analyst has coordination relationship between the Borrower and the Syndicate. Responsibilities include daily monitoring of collateral/financing activity, reconcile credit agreement terms, as well as acting as the day to day interface between the Client, the Front Office and the Back Offices. TCF/MO monitors and reviews collateral, loans, LCs and payment requests for clients in the energy, agri and metals structure. TCF/MO is also responsible for daily controls of structured financed transactions, predominantly discounted receivables. Each Analyst is responsible for primary and a backup group of clients.
Mission
Main responsibilities:
• Participate in pre-closing, & closing phases: Review term sheet with FO to determine acceptable deal structure. Review credit agreement for conformity with term sheet and approvals. Define documentation/monitoring, facility structure feasibility from a credit / risk perspective Analysis, attend pre-closing and post closing meeting on as needed basis.
• After closing, is responsible for client processing. This includes loan and collateral activity, plus closing and amendments to facilities. The Analyst is the direct contact to the clients, FO and other banks.
• Monitor and analyze collateral activities (Borrowing Base, Transactional, Pool, REPO and GSA facilities). Maintain appropriate level of operational risk culture and awareness.
• Performs covenants monitoring & analysis and Past due follow up: borrowing base report, financial report etc.
• Performs and participate in periodic risk reviews with RISK department and Business Line: monthly/quarterly meeting to discuss “Borrowing Base” analysis. Prepare notes for the meeting.
• Is involved in other credit risks analysis: monthly and quarterly RWA (Risk weighted asset) analysis and adjustment.
• Knowledge of “commodity & trade finance” and “structured trade finance” and define Borrowing Base and transactional monitoring process as per internal guideline – collateral valuation/eligibility, pre approved lists monitoring.
• Maintains the knowledge and technical skills of team members in commodity financing operations.
• Participate in projects from proposal to implementation. Ensure proper testing, training and implementation of projects.
• Maintain departmental procedures for scope and accuracy, identifying controls and implementing changes. Be vigilant to possible control issues or concerns.
• Apply all Group rules and procedures linked to financial crime risks prevention (KYC, AML, Sanctions and Embargo, Anti-boycott) on a daily basis while processing operations.
• Contribute to adapt rules and processes linked to financial crime.
• Interact with other departments including Front Office, Legal, Compliance, Loan Servicing, LC department, Accounting and Payment department.

Technical Skills
• Minimum 10+ years experiences in commodities trade finance operation and financing in transactional and borrowing base report monitoring.
• Credit / risk experiences in legal documentation requirement, product liquidity, facility structure / advance rate and financial statement preferred.
• Good understanding of accounting concepts (Cash, AP, AR, Net, Inventory)
• International multi-office operations experience.
• Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office products including MS Project, and Excel, plus collateral management system and LoanIQ.
• Hands on Middle Office or Back Office collateral monitoring experience.
• Special projects and management reporting skills.
