Job Title: Tax Director, Tax Compliance and Reporting
Job Description:
• Prepare quarterly and annual ASC 740 calculations in connection with SEC reporting requirements. Prepare the tax calculations for the non GAAP metrics.
• Prepare the calculations under the Tax Receivable Agreement including the step up calculations.
• Prepare calculations to support the quarterly BX distributions including the Qualified Notice and sourcing of the distributions.
• Prepare the PTP qualified income calculation tests for BX.
• Prepare earnings and profits calculations and quarterly estimated income tax payments for corporations.
• Analysis and reporting for U.S. tax reporting of foreign investments. Prepare and/or review Form 5471’s, 8865’s, 8858’s, 8621’s, 1120F and any other Form or statement required on the US Tax Return in relation to non-US investments and activities. Ensure that any tax law changes or structural changes are appropriately reported on the relevant US tax returns.
• Compile tax data and prepare workpapers for federal and multi state tax return preparation.
• Prepare and/or review book/tax differences for various partnership and corporate entities.
• Prepare corporate and partnership federal tax returns and review state tax returns.
• Prepare FDAP & ECI withholding tax calculations.
• Perform interim year partnership projections and allocations to assist the Firm’s partners with making quarterly estimated tax payments.
• Research tax issues and advise management accordingly.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 10 years of experience to carry out the responsibilities of the position, gained in either Public Accounting and/or a combination of both public and private experience
• CPA or graduate degree preferred
• Relevant tax experience with a solid understanding of accounting for income taxes and ASC 740
• Corporate tax return preparation experience required
• Partnership experience is preferred
• Strong computer skills, especially strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and V lookups
• Working knowledge of tax return preparation systems, especially ThomsonReuters OneSource
• Knowledge of US reporting of foreign investments including PFIC’s, CFC’s and CFP’s
• Must be organized, very detail oriented and able to function in an intense environment with the ability to take initiative
• Must produce timely and accurate records, and understand that supporting work paper documentation is paramount
• Strong verbal and written communication skills: this position interfaces with members of the tax and accounting departments
• Motivated to learn and able to apply knowledge learned to future projects
• Team player
• Must be proactive, follow through on commitments and understand that deadlines are meaningful.
